Answer:	It should work with any USB connection. I've used mine on my custom built tower which has USB 3.0 ports and my Sony Vaio laptop in both the 2.0 and 3.0 ports.
Question:	How many integrated tuners
Answer:	The length of the cable is 8" from the end of the hub to the end of the usb plug. I think some of the confusion comes from the multiple device listings on the same page. I believe the one I bought had a promo code and was the base model. That one comes as the hub alone. If you look closely, the other ones are listed with a 3 foot USB extension cable. It all depends what you are looking for. In my case I didn't need the extra 3' of cable laying on my desk. It worked fine for my older laptop with one USB 3.0 plug. Mine did not lose connection however as another customer had experienced. Hope this helps you out there and sorry for the delay in answering.

Answer:	Yes you have to buy a DVR service which is 35.00 a year. Which isn't bad. However I bought Plex lifetime membership and use my own pc or laptop as a server and add a big hard drive for recording tv shows. Services limit the space. Which is why I bought Plex and and 8TB hard drive and dedicated it to Plex. So I basically have my own media server for movies, music, and tv shows. Plex you can buy monthly, yearly or lifetime. I bought the lifetime which was 149.00 one time fee. Sometimes they drop price and have a sale. Overall Plex is better for me I think.

Question:	can you plug this straight into a cable line coming into your house
Answer:	Only if it is attached to an antenna. If it is a line with "cable" service this is the wrong tuner card for you. You need one that has a tuner for "cable" channels, not just ATSC over the air channels. Hauppauge has cards with both. The part number usually has an "H" in them and you'll see two F-connectors on the card, one for an antenna for ATSC over the air channels, one for cable channels. An old card, that had this was WINTV-HVR1600. It is so old it is ISA, not PCI.
Question:	If i do not have cable, what more do i need to buy to access local stations (abc, nbc, cbs
Answer:	an antenna, big enough to receive your local stations (depending on your distance from their transmission point, obstacles in the way, and height that you can mount antenna (22 -24 feet is preferred)), probably will need in line amplifier depending on the distance between your antenna and your computer (if greater than 25-50 feet), and you should already have Windows Media Center installed. When you upgrade to Windows 10, you can use the Hauppauge WinTV8 software instead of WMC.

When I could no longer run Windows Media Center, I could only find one product that offered the same functionality as WMC, specifically the ability to have a movies only guide. And that product is J River Media Center. It is as good as or better than WMC, although it take more effort to configure it for some functionality. And it records into the TS format, which can be played on practically any media play, such as Roku, Fire TV, Shield, or any of the inexpensive Android boxes. It's not free, but it's not really that expensive.

Answer:	A better antenna does improve efficiency. I've tried several different types of rabbit ears and the like but have had the best success with one of the "leaf antennas" (copy and use this link for Amazon search: http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_ss_i_0_5?url=search-alias%3Delectronics&field-keywords=leaf+antenna&sprefix=leaf+%2Celectronics%2C252). I use it at work and I am at the outer edge of reception and behind some hills. As one of the other answers stated with digital it is usually there or not. These leaf antennas seem to be able to pull in the weakest stations with not problems. Also, the power amplifier included with some of the versions also makes a difference. If you live with lots of clutter (trees, hills, buildings, etc) try one of the powered ones. Good luck.

Answer:	I have a telescoping antenna from a previous HDTV OTA tuner that has a heavier and magnetic base, however, it doesn't have any better/worse reception than this "V" antenna, which is so flimsy, each individual antennae isn't strong enough to stay in any fixed "up" position. Answer:	It will drive you crazy trying to find a logical explanation, OR a fix. Had this for a couple of years. GREAT at first, then started losing channels, then died about 6 months ago. Very common to find the same in reviews on other sites. So the good news is, NO contract...the Bad news is, you get to buy a new one every year, that's if you are lucky. Get used to it folks, many electronic devices that used to last for 10 years, now last less than one. But to answer you specifically, it makes no difference. Ran through splitter for the year that it worked, when it quit, I tried direct, new wire, cleaned antenna connections, many hours of work wasted. Not saying some may have used bad splitters, and a temp fix may be lucky for you. For more info, check newegg with 10 times the reviews. It has a %47 total, %28 1 or 2 star and only %16 4 star. Even that is misleading because so many post the review when they first set it up and don't bother when it fails. Answer:	No, this is not a low profile card. There is no such low profile bracket from the package....

Answer:	It worked on my Windows 10 pc. All I had to do was download the drivers and software from the disk, then manually go into device manager and search for the drivers through windows. The device should be listed under “other devices” as a multimedia card. Once you do that, the tvr software license key is in a text file inside the disk. Then I had a weird audio glitch that may or may not be windows 10 related, where there was a rhythmic thinking sound. You have to manually change the audio output in the settings and restart the software.
