Answer:	It did on mine to where I could see the edge of the sprocket holes but I don't know if it will zoom out as far as you want.

Answer:	No. You have to reverse the reels and follow the white dotted threading line. Make sure you close the platten down so you won't scratch the film. Then press the mode switch till display of functions comes up. Scroll down to fast forward and press the start switch (far right button) and the film will wind up back on it's original reel. Remember, don't thread the film back under the platten! Close it down to allow free, overhead movement of film. Good luck! MW unit will wind

Question:	No sound? If you convert videos, do you lose their sound
Answer:	1. Transfer using scanner. 2. Transfer again using any magnetic sound projector onto white paper or transfer box. The audio must be connected with mini pin from projector to audio into camcorder. Camcorder must have audio in option. 3. Using video editing software such as Adobe sold here on Amazon, import both versions. Align both versions on timeline, delete video--not audio from sound transfer. Align audio and tweek sync if needed, by changing slightly the speed of the audio track. We use the Relecta Super 8+ scanner. Slow professional results. This unit is very cheap, flimsy and the sub-par encoding is due to the speed it needs to encode, at 20fps necessary for film transfers in 8mm. The Reflecta however, combines the 1080p images once scan is finished into movie, giving superior results. Also pay attention to the CMOS chip size. This one is something like 2.5 whereas the Reflecta CMOS is 9. That's the most important subject regarding scanners.
Question:	Does it have manual frame-by-frame scanning to ensure perfect frame alignment over trouble spots in the film like torn sprocket holes and bad splices
Answer:	I have 8mm film put some of the film has torn sprocket holes. Does this projector need sprocket holes or does it run on the edge of film?
Question:	How adjustable is the compression? Some capture devices suffer from lossy compression. Also if 1536v, why is 1080p the highest resolution available
Answer:	The compression and resolution are almost academic considering the image quality of an 8mm frame. Without compression, you'd be dealing with unwieldy file sizes. mp4 artifacts are way down on the list of things to consider here. This product is for movies shot by amateurs. I set my video editor to 1080p ProRes and then re-compress to mp4. The degradation is hardly noticeable.
Question:	How long does it take to convert a 50ft reel
Answer:	What is important here is that this machine is actually a 8mm/super8 SCANNER! It does not transfer the film elements in real time. And, that is the good news. It will scan one frame per second (my best estimate). So, a 50’ reel could take about 25 minutes. One thing that I needed to do it run the video file through a video editing software to get the best speed and exposure. Then you can transfer the file to a DVD or onto a MP4 . I did both. I made a dvd file to transfer as well as a MP4 file to stream via my router. Get the pro version to transfer into 1080. The image from 8mm will only have a limited sharp quality to the image. Answer:	This package includes the VHStoDVD 7.0 Plus (for PC) and Video Conversion for Mac. The only difference between the 7.0 Plus and 7.0 Deluxe is that the Plus version does not include the Blu-ray burning.
Question:	Do you have to play the movie as it converts? does it take convert in high speed or does it take the full movie length time
Answer:	To answer your first question: Yes you have to play the movie as it converts otherwise if you fast forward it it might record you fast forwarding it. Unfortunately there's no work around on that. To answer your second question, no it doesn't convert in high speed unless you have a Solid State Drive and have 16 GB RAM or more then it might, but that's just an educated guess. Otherwise it depends on the length of the tape. The longest I had to record was 2 hours and 28 minutes. The shortest I had to record was 5 minutes. Also it depends on well taken care of and clean the tape is, I noticed the first time I did a tape it kept destabilizing after cleaning the tape it stabilized perfectly the conversion was very smooth.
Question:	What digital formats does it convert them to? .AVI, MP4, MOV, MPG, etc
Answer:	The following are the video import formats; VCD, SVCD, DVD file, DVD DL file, Long DVD file, Long DVD DL file, WMV File, MPEG-1 File, MPEG-2 File.

Answer:	YES. ANY input via RCA jacks works! That includes cable and other gadgets.My first project was running through a VHS tape. BE WARNED that you'll need to convert the finished video to whatever you want to burn it too, but as a video file, I recommend that you just save it to a drive. Some fast movement was not smooth, but the image quality is excellent overall. I am reconverting old home VHS with this!

Answer:	Import the file into a program like Pinnacle's Studio pro or Adobe Premiere Elements. From there you can create a DVD. Or upload directly to YouTube and you have a watchable movie that will play on your TV if your PC is linked to your TV. That last way is best as the second compression which YouTube does to the movie improves the quality of the video.

Answer:	i have a US unit, it came with an external power supply that plugs into the wall socket. It outputs 12 vdc that plugs into the unit.It should have no issue if the correct wall supply is furnished for the eu unit. Unit actually runs on 12v.
Question:	how much can a 32 GB card hold. How many small reels
Answer:	My 3-inch reels average about 150 MB each. So a quick back-of-the-napkin calculation is 213 3-inch reels will fit on a 32 GB memory card.
Question:	Has anyone figured out a way to use 7" reels on this unit
Answer:	I found out that the 7" reels that surface mount electronics parts are packaged on for automated manufacturing are the same as old super 8 reels. I work at a company that has electronics manufacturing and the empties get tossed out. So, I got a bunch of them with intent to make some pulleys out of them. Idea was to put a cut down one on the wolverine take up drive, then a rubber belt (actually a girls hair band) over a another for offset and finally a "final drive" that I could put the actual 7" take up on. Had that stuff mounted on a wood stand. The supply reel just mounted on another wood stand with a bolt and wingnut. Good idea but didn't work well. The pulleys & belts took too much torque to turn and the wolverine slip clutch was not up to the task. Plan B, I had a motorized film editor with 2 variable speed drive motors on it. So, I took that apart and arranged one of the motors to drive my pulley setup instead of the wolverine. I had to babysit it but it worked and I was able to scan several full 7" reels w/o having to cut them into smaller sections. Looked real kludgy but got it done. If I were to be doing a lot more of this, I would rebuild the setup with a proper motor.

Question:	What is the tv jack for? the manual said it is a phone jack, but none of tv has a phone plug
Answer:	While it's true that camera "film" can't be exposed to light, DEVELOPED film becomes a "negative", which CAN be exposed to light. So far, I've converted about 200 35 mm slides to digital photos without any problems. I haven't tried using negatives yet, but I'm sure the result will be the same. It's a fantastic little machine.
Question:	Can this scan 120 film
Answer:	With a Mac, you have to save images to an SD card or the device's built-in memory (only 128 MB). Then you choose USB Upload and you can transfer the images to your computer.
Question:	Are the Reels for 8mm film scanning included or are they an extra cost? None are shown in the advertisement
Answer:	I'm not sure about that as I have only produced a digital image from a negative.
Question:	Does this connect to the computer to save the photos onto hard drive or do you need the SD card
Answer:	Not being an expert on the computer, I am not sure what "ntsc" means, but I do NOT use an sd card with my Kodak Scanner. I have the scanner plugged directly into my laptop, and the digital images go straight to the E drive, from where I easily put them into folders under My Pictures. So far I have done about 1,100 slides, and I am so very happy with the quality of the digital images. I also have had fun editing for brightness and color. Many of my digital images are better than the original slides! I am extremely happy with this product.

Answer:	First, play the VHS tape through a TV to make sure that it works on its own. Also, try using a newer commercially produced tape to see how it works with the capture converter.. This will tell you if the problem is the tapes or the converter. Remember reusing tapes? The ones I had reused did not seem to work as well., while others were fine. Some flashed black screens throughout, while some were clear.

Question:	Have a mac with catalina 10.15.4 the disc will not load, says not compatible. software from the website will not open. any suggestions
Answer:	I'm using Mojave (10.14.6). No problems. You don't need to download any drivers or software. By plugging the device into your USB port, it loads its own drivers. Then, with your input ready to go, you open Quicktime, do a "New Movie Recording" and then on the little dropdown next to the record button within the quicktime window, select "AV TO USB 2.0" for the Camera and "USB 2.0 MIC" for Audio. Hit record and roll the tape (or whatever).
Question:	Installed drivers, then software, then device. in showbiz capture...no device shows up. what should i do
Answer:	make sure cable connections are tight. Try to change the connections to the plugins to front or viceversa. Click play before capturing

Moreover, I have been unable to remove ArcSoft ShowBiz software from my Windows 10 computer. The normal windows process for uninstalling an app did not work, even in safe mode. I see no uninstaller with the software (which is quite old), so I don't know what I'm going to do.

Question:	how long is the cable
Answer:	on one end about 100cm for the USB cable middles is a 10 cm elgato capture thingythen short 10+cm cables on the other end for s-video and composite
Question:	Can I transfer my VHS videos thru my Mac and save them all on an external hard drive to save space on my Mac
Answer:	Yes, the software will give you an option for a destination for the captured videos. Just make sure that the drive is hooked up when you run the software and select that drive as a destination. Depending on the speed of the connection (USB/FireWire/Thunderbolt), it may take from a little to a lot longer than to do it to your local HD. If that turns out to be very slow, and you want to do a lot of converting at one time, another option is just to save one video to your Mac's drive, and then move it to the external HD while you're converting the next movie.
Question:	What format is the converted file in? Can you change this to other formats (.AVI, .DVIX, ect
Answer:	If you use VirtualDub you can output your video in different formats. I output to raw AVI so I can cut my video into smaller segments in Adobe Premiere without sacrificing quality. VHS quality is already so poor, I don't want to lose any of it by re-encoding mp4/h264 files.
Question:	I can see the input plugs, but what is the output plug? USB, Apple lightning
Answer:	Absolutely does NOT WORK on the new Thunderbolt 3 ports (USB-C). The feed appears jittery, despite looking fine on the TV. I have tried two different Elgato devices, 3 different USB 3.0 to USB-C adapters (including Apple) and a brand new MacBook Air specifically for this project. I have trouble shot every aspect and video is distorted and jumpy, probably due to data transfer feeds from a USB 2.0 device coming into Thunderbolt ports.
