Answer:	there is no easy way to measure the force, and pressing too hard will destroy the press (you have to be especially careful if you get oil or grease on the screw thread, in which case friction will be reduced). i'm guessing that the most the press is capable of is about 20lbs equivalent. i've added a round board under the follower and another above the top channel to strengthen it, and currently i can get maybe 40lbs (i press 48 hours and get hardness similar to cheddar). i've thought about adding springs, which would allow me to measure the force created, but for now i'm just increasing torque till i feel the press start to bend

Answer:	I have not tried personally, but the recommendation for my purchase came from "Sam the cooking Guy" on youtube. He has specifically said you cannot use it on Ginger.

Answer:	Yes. With tuna the strainer fits insde the tuna can to dtrain. For a can of green beans (14.5 oz small can) the strainer slips over the can. You just tilt the can and drain it. Love my strainer.

Answer:	Extremely sturdy. I squeeze the tuna very hard and I'm surprised how rigid it is. Very happy with it.
Question:	Does this strain 12 oz cans of tuna
Answer:	It can be used successfully with any can which has the same diameter as a 5oz can of tuna. Compare the diameter of your can to a regular 5 oz can and you’ll have your answer.
Question:	Will this work on 12oz cans of tuna
Answer:	Not sure what the 12 oz can top is shaped like - works fine on 6 oz tuna cans and normal size canned veggies - size is exact for 6 oz tuna - any opening wider than that would not work well
