User questions & answers
Question: | What's the G light on the top right of the keyboard |
Answer: | It indicates "game mode" where some keys can be temporarily disabled (typically the Win key and Menu key). |
Question: | Is it comparable with Windows XP |
Answer: | The retail box states - Windows 10 / 8.1 / 8 / 7 |
Question: | Is the silver color metallic or matte? How dark is it, grey or very silver |
Answer: | Did you mean its upper closer colour? It is metalic-grey, not silver. If you want to get a silver colour, G413 Silver is the alternative option. |
Question: | why are two usb connections required? I have a laptop with a secondary screen |
Answer: | All I can figue is that they don't want to spend the $5 to integrate a USB hub into the keyboard. Because if you plug both the cables coming from the keyboard into an unpowered hub and then plug the single cable from the hub into your computer, everything works fine. The only thing I can imagine is that the power draw might require more than USB 2.0 can deliver and they don't want to require a USB 3.0 port to plug their keyboard in. However, the fact that keyboards with illumination and USB passthrough exist, and work on USB 2.0, such as the Logitech G19, pretty much destroy my argument for any valid reason for two cables other than simply being cheap and cutting corners. |

User questions & answers
Question: | can you connect this keyboard to a chromebook |
Answer: | It is possible to do that, but remember that some keys on the board have separate functions on a chromebook! For example, Caps Lock is Search. |
Question: | If you had a choice between the G810 or the G610 which would you go with? Are the keys really different |
Answer: | I personally would go for the cheapest one I could get. I have no idea what the G810 keys are like. In the G610 they are the same normal keys except that the symbol that shows when you use shift and key is located below the regular symbol. This is the opposite from the standard keyboards I have used. |
Question: | Are the key letters and numbers laser etched? That's what I'm looking for |
Answer: | Not sure how they are cut, but the black plastic key has the letter/number cut out and an inner liner is molded into the opening and is translucent to the light from a source below the key. By very lightly rubbing the surface of the key, you can barely feel the margins of the black key and the inner white lining. The black key "shell" is about 0.5mm thick and the white liner with the embossed letter/number that fills the cut black shell (rising up from the bottom) also is about 0.5mm, making the entire key shell about 1.0mm thick. |
Question: | Can you change the color |
Answer: | You would have to solder each switch out to change color. So no you would not want to do that. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Is this a quiet keyboard? How obtrusive are the key clicking sounds |
Answer: | Silent but tactile |
Question: | Two different sets of key caps are shown in the pictures.... which one is shipping? The one that looks normal or the one with all the odd symbols |
Answer: | I purchased mine directly from Logitech, before it was posted on Amazon, but I received the normal keys, without all the extra symbols (same as the customer posted images). |
Question: | Is there a setting in the software to keep the backlight on at all times? I was hoping to just keep it plugged in anyway |
Answer: | This from Bananas' review dated Sept 6, 2019. Hope it gives you a better idea of what to expect. FEATURES: I absolutely LOVE the backlighting. Logitech nailed this on the head. The backlight is a nice color, there's a variety of brightness options to choose from, and light bleed is kept to a minimum. The light turns off after about 5 seconds of inactivity, but you don't have to start typing again for the light to come on. You can move the mouse, or even just hover your hands above the keyboard, and the backlight will be on before you can even start typing. This implementation alone makes this keyboard worth its price. The keyboard also has a USB C port (cable is included) which makes charging a breeze. |
Question: | Why there is no keyboard layout given? i suspect its us iso |
Answer: | The keyboard shown at the top of the Amazon page is an international ISO version. The keyboard that you will receive in the US is the US ANSI version shown lower on the same page under "From the manufacturer". |

User questions & answers
Question: | About the -FEEL- of the keyboard |
Answer: | Oh it most definitely does. Think of it as a modern equivalent to the original IBM PS/2 keyboard. It feels like a bigger, more high quality version of the one on a Dell Latitude D630 |
Question: | is this mac compatible |
Answer: | I have been using this keyboard without incident for 5 years with a 2009 27" iMac as well as a MacBook Pro at work. There are absolutely no issues using this keyboard with a Mac. You'll need to go into the System Preferences > "Keyboard" > "Modifier Keys..." and swap the "Windows" (option) and "alt" (command) keys so it will function just like a Mac keyboard. Please ignore all the Windows users' comments who have no first-hand knowledge. |
Question: | How quiet are the keys? I'm researching keyboards for a testing center. People regularly complain about the keyboard noise in there |
Answer: | I don't have a noise level for you but it was one of the quietest keyboards I've had. I had one that lasted from 2010 to 2017. The one I replaced it with seemed to be exactly liked the one I replaced but the space bar didn't work unless I hit it dead center. I tried taking the space bar off the old one and using it but it didn't help. I finally put a piece of plastic in the center and it worked for about a month. I gave up and now have another keyboard that is no where near as quiet but at least all of the keys work. |
Question: | Is the palm rest removable |
Answer: | No the palm rest is not removable. |

Question: | is the wrist rest removable |
Answer: | Yea, it is, and another different wrist rest comes with the keyboard, both removable... |
Question: | Are the keys loud |
Answer: | They are surprisingly quiet for mechanical keys |
Question: | How long is the cord |
Answer: | The cord is long enough. Didn’t think of measuring, but I would say probably 2.5m. Good quality cable, doesn’t tangle. |

Answer: | There are three "M" keys in the upper left corner that let you switch between macro profiles. Nine programmable G-keys and three M-keys provide up to 27 unique functions per game. https://www.logitech.com/assets/52616/g910-setup-guide.pdf |

User questions & answers
Question: | are you able to switch between multiple bluetooth devices like with the craft keyboard |
Answer: | The feature that I enjoy is that I can switch between my 2.4GHz dongle (connected to PC) and Bluetooth (IPhone) on a fly. It allows me to reply to let’s say txts without picking up the phone into my hands |
Question: | Is there a version that goes have the 5 g keys? i often mistake g5 for the ctrl key |
Answer: | I don't think so, but If they are bothering you, you might be able to make a cap to go over all 5 g1-5 keys, a small long inverted box. It would be a great and simple 3d printing project. |
Question: | Has anyone else noticed that the entire keyboard is slightly curved? Like, I sent one back and got another: same thing. The middle arches up a little |
Answer: | Its a very subtle curve if any but I think I see an upward bowing, but given its rigidity, I'm sure that the bowing, if any is intentional. It's only a couple millimeters at most of a rise in the middle. I hadn't noticed it until this question was presented to me. I wouldn't worry about it, or I might consider taking off my progressive bifocal glasses. With such optics, no line is straight. :-) |
Question: | Did anyone actually use this and not just give it a horrible rating cuz of price |
Answer: | I use it, works great as a keyboard. I rated it low due to the app being confusing and a pain. Customer service is basically a joke, wants to charge for the phone call and sent an email unrelated to my problem. The issues is it has 3 memories but they can only store 2 lighting modes and some modes in the presets won’t store on the memory at all. |

User questions & answers
Question: | After a full charge of the keyboard, how long does the the charge last? Can you completely switch off the backlit when you do not require it |
Answer: | This is my second K800 keyboard. At the beginning, they both held a charge for about a month, but after a few months, this one needs to be charged about once a week. I use it about 3 - 4 hours a day. The old one got so bad that I didn't bother unplugging it at the end. But you can switch off the back light which, in my experience, will extend the charge. |
Question: | With this keyboard being "wireless" can you still use it totally all of the time with the cable attached? I mean, can you use it as a cable keyboard OR a wireless |
Answer: | This is a super fantastic keyboard. Yes, even though it is "wireless" you can still use it totally all of the time with the cable attached if you want to. Does not cause a problem at all! So if you have been using it wirelessly and the batteries go low, you can plug it in and use it while it is charging! You are never stuck with a dead battery keyboard! |
Question: | Can you disable the proximity feature and have the keys lit all the time regardless of the distance of your fingers from the keyboard |
Answer: | I don't believe so. The keys light up when you click on something that requires a reply or when you start typing a letter. an e-mail., etc. During the day you don't notice that the keys light up as much as you do at night. Also if the keys stayed lit-up you would have to charge the keyboard up more often. A charge lasts for about 5 hours of typing. So far I haven't had to charge mine yet, but I think if the keys stayed lit-up all of the time I would have had to by now. Hope this is helpful. |
Question: | do you need a logitech mouse to operate the keyboard |
Answer: | This keyboard does not have a trackpad, so you will need a mouse. While any mouse will do, using a Logitech mouse with a "Unifying" receiver will allow you to pair both the keyboard and mouse to the same dongle, using only one USB port instead of two. That's the advantage of the Logitech Unifying system One tiny dongle can control up to six devices. |
