You need a 12v cigarette lighter plug on your motorcycle in order to supply power to your GPS system, or attach a fully charged GPS system without using the 12v plug . I've been using this clamp system on my Polaris Sportsman XP 1000 High Lifter 4x4 for approximately two years and love it.
