Types of Kobalt Drills:
- Cordless Drill Drivers: Kobalt offers a range of cordless drill drivers that run on rechargeable lithium-ion batteries. These drills are versatile and suitable for tasks such as drilling holes in wood, metal, or plastic, as well as driving screws. They come in various voltage ratings, with higher voltage models generally offering more power and longer runtime.
- Hammer Drills: Kobalt also manufactures cordless hammer drills. These drills have a hammering action in addition to rotation, making them suitable for drilling into masonry and concrete. They are commonly used in construction and renovation projects.
- Corded Drills: Some Kobalt drills are corded, meaning they need to be plugged into an electrical outlet to operate. Corded drills provide continuous power, making them suitable for heavy-duty tasks. They are often chosen for their consistent performance.
- Drill Presses: Kobalt also produces drill presses, which are stationary tools used for precision drilling.Drill presses are ideal for tasks that require accuracy and control, such as creating evenly spaced holes in woodworking projects.
Key Features:
- Variable Speed: Most Kobalt drills feature variable speed settings, allowing users to adjust the drilling or driving speed based on the material and task at hand.
- Clutch Settings: Cordless Kobalt drills often come with adjustable clutch settings that control the torque delivered when driving screws. This helps prevent over-tightening and stripping of screws.
- LED Work Lights: Many Kobalt drills are equipped with built-in LED work lights to illuminate the work area, improving visibility in low-light conditions.
- Battery Technology: Kobalt's cordless drills typically use lithium-ion batteries, known for their long-lasting power and quick recharge times.
- Keyless Chuck: Kobalt drills often feature keyless chucks, which allow for easy and quick bit changes without the need for additional tools.
- Ergonomic Design: Kobalt pays attention to the ergonomic design of their drills, ensuring that they are comfortable to hold and use for extended periods.
Accessories and Kits:
- Kobalt often offers drill kits that include a drill, battery or batteries, charger, and sometimes a carrying case. These kits provide a convenient way for users to get started with their tools.
- Accessories such as drill bits, screwdriver bits, and extensions are also available separately or included in some Kobalt drill packages.
Warranty and Customer Support:
- Kobalt typically offers warranties on their power tools, including drills. The length and terms of the warranty may vary depending on the specific model, so it's important to check the warranty information for the drill you choose.
In summary, Kobalt drills are part of the brand's extensive line of power tools and are designed to meet the needs of both DIY enthusiasts and professionals. They offer a range of features, power options, and types to suit various drilling and driving tasks. User questions & answers
Question: | Does this include a hammer drill? Because the picturs seem like drill / driver |
Answer: | My trimmer is a TB575ec and it fits it perfect. If it says that it will fit the 525 it probably will. It takes a couple of weeks to get it from China but it starts and runs better than the original carburetor. |
Question: | How many batteries does the kit have? From the description it's unclear if one or two |
Answer: | Yes I believe it should |
Question: | is the batery charger included |
Answer: | Yes! I would recommend getting the zero blade as well for a very close neck trim. |
Question: | So the drill is a combo? driver / hammer drill |
Answer: | Neither, we recommend keeping it away from water. You really don't want to trim your hair when it is wet. Rinsing under water to clean it only removes lubrication from the blade. Trimming in the shower can be a great way to keep your bathroom clean - just do it before you turn the water on! |
Question: | Is a charger included |
Answer: | Correct! Add the guard length to the micro-adjust length to get the total. 4mm would be the 3mm guard with the blade all the way up (1mm). |
Question: | Will the charger also charge my 18volt kobalt lithium ion batteries |
Answer: | Hi There! You certainly can however our blades typically last quite some time. Never hesitate to head over to our page and reach out to our Customer Service team. We'd be so grateful for the opportunity to help me. |
Question: | Does the set include a battery |
Answer: | This is a human beard trimming. If you want to buy a product for your cute pet, you can browse other products in my shop. We also sell haircut products for pets, you can refer to https://www.amazon.com/dp/B086L69BYX?ref=myi_title_dp |
Question: | Are these 100% made in America |
Answer: | Thank you for your question! Yes, the wheel is used to adjust the clearance of the blade. You can rotate the wheel according to the size you want. |
Question: | Can you use regular drill bits with it or do they have to be those Kobalt bits with the oversized ends |
Answer: | Yes. I love it, works great and cuts my beard to a short even height! Great product! |
Question: | How many years from now will Kobalt stop making batteries to fit this drill, as all companies do to force purchase of new dills |
Answer: | This is a beard-cutting product. It is most suitable for trimming beards. I don't deny that it can also cut hair, but the effect is not as good as trimming beards. So it is still recommended to use it to trim beards, this is what it does |
Question: | How much does the drill with battery weigh |
Answer: | Thank you very much for your question. Our package contains hair trimmers and 4 guide combs. I'm sorry that you can't buy the guide combs separately. |
Question: | Will the 24-volt battery on this work on an older Kobalt drill that uses the 18-volt battery |
Answer: | Not at all! Whenever I use this product it's very smooth and precise even though you get a close shave experience using this product. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Hello from pensacola florida my question is can this thing take off a tire if not can you point me to on that dose thanks |
Answer: | In the shop I use my 3/8 impact wrench from dewalt with a 20v 5ah battery and i can go almost 2 days before having to charge my battery and i use it for almost everything. It will take off tires, pull headbolts, engine mounts, t-case bolts, and so on. I would recommend if you're working on your vehicle getting the impact wrench with impact sockets. I put about $500 into what i use and it hasn't let me down yet in almost 4 years. With the wrench you won't need the adapter from screw bit to socket so that will save you a headache if you loose it. |
Question: | How many inch pounds will this impact driver provide |
Answer: | This impact has almost 1500 in-lbs of torque. Very good impact and you can beat the hell out of them they definitely last. |
Question: | Does it come with 2 batteries |
Answer: | Yes it comes with two batteries |
Question: | Does the drill have a hammer setting |
Answer: | The drill combo with the hammer setting is DCK299. However, I will say I thought I needed a hammer drill, it turns out it’s useless. An impact drill gives pulses of force laterally (in the direction of rotation) to turn big bolts, a hammerdrill delivers the same force forward. It turns out that this force is so minimal it’s basically useless. If you actually need a hammer drill what you really need is a rotary hammer. Much greater forward bang. A hammer drill is a bit like a vibrating razor. Only useful in masonry and then it goes just as fast without. |

User questions & answers
Question: | can it drill 1/4 holes into plastic |
Answer: | ----Its not the drill, It's the BIT ----Hanson makes particular bits for drilling plastic, with any drill regardless of voltage, and theyre available most any good hardware store or Tap Plastics. They have a particularly pointed tip, so don't ever attempt to ever use them on wood or metal, as doing so would render it crapp for plastic use from then on. I have 1/8, 3/16, and 1/4 in my arsenal, and they pretty much cover any plastic, ABS, PVC, and especially Plexi-Glas projects I encounter. Yeah, they're a buck or two higher than regular bits, but they also wont crack your pretty plexi-glas project all to hell like a standard twist drill bit will. |
Question: | Does this drill have a built in LED light |
Answer: | Yes, it has a light. But it's worse than useless. It lights the area nearby, but casts a shadow on the spot you are drilling. The glare makes it actually harder to see what you're doing. |
Question: | Would you recommend this drill over the DEWALT DC970K-2 18-Volt Drill/Driver Kit (http://www.amazon.com/dp/B002RLR0EY)? If so, why |
Answer: | I had an oportunity to use the 18V when I installed the railings on my father in laws staircase. I worked absolutely great but I had to keep switching batteries and kept one on the charger. He got it last Christmas. I told myself then the Dewalt was far superior to the two brands of portable drills I was using that I was going to get a Dewalt for myself. Honestly, when I ordered the 20V I assumed it was the same as my father in law had but his was the 18V. I would be happy with either but the 20V I have is smaller in size and lighter than the 18V that he has. Plus the 20V lithium batteries last a long long time before you have to recharge but then again replacement batteries are expensive. I just used the 20V to build my garage and so far I've only swithed batteries 5 times and that includes all the siding, drywall, wire routing. BTW I use the new star bit screws for everything they are far superior to phillips and I have given all my boxes of phillips screws away; along with my two "other brand" cordless drills. |
Question: | Does this unit come with one or two batteries |
Answer: | As of March 22, 2020 the Description clearly says it comes with two batteries... "...The tools weighs 3.6 pounds and contains 2 20 volt Max compact Lithium ion battery packs " |
