Answer:	1. loosen large loop so you can fit over dogs head. 2. depending on mode - walk or relaxed, you adjust. 2.a - relaxed mode is tighten collar so that two fingers fit between collar and neck 2.b - training mode is tighten big part so two fingers fit between the two d rings that hold the smaller loop. 3. only use training mode / walking mode when actually doing those things. so that training mode adjustment gives you that 2 fingers of compression when you train. thats as much as it 'chokes.' its more like a hug. incidentally the metal martingale are same but parts, however that metal makes a zip sound like a regular choker. experienced trainers train for the zip of the chain behind the ears distraction, not compression or a tug. same with a choker. the large loop should be oriented on the side of the dog. never have your lead attached directly above the spine. that puts extra force on the trachea when it compresses. you want to use this to make your dog learn to heal? simple. 10-20 minutes of training a day for a week will work if your consistent. 2 easy ways with this -- one, when walking the dog walk with lead behind your body and adjust slack in lead so there is slack, but if you stop and the dog keeps going? it pulls lead against back of your leg and stops the dog with mild compression. you can use your thigh or calf to control the dog's shoulder stopping in line with your heel. i mean consistent. same side every time. when you start walking, always lead with foot next to dog (later the transition from heel to stay isnt a command, its what foot you walk away on) honestly thats a great way but takes more time and some finesse. this is absolutely great. everytime the dog gets a mind to go one direction or keep going in a direct? pivot 45 or 90 degrees without stopping. once the dog is unsure of where its going and realizes you make the decisions, it wont get in front of you because it needs to catch your cues. watch some videos.
