| Answer: | The back of the pattern has body measurements that corresponds to a size chart. As a seamstress, I have used this pattern four times in the past year and it should be noted that if you are fitting a bigger bust this pattern tends to run small in the bust. This pattern also runs small if you are fitting someone broad across the back. On the flip side, if you are fitting someone tiny it may be too large across the back. I would recommend getting a very accurate body measurement, use the size chart accordingly for smaller sizes and moving one size up for busty fits (measuring 36 or more). If possible, pin the pattern to fit before cutting your fabric, or cut a dummy pattern from cheap fabric (sheets from Goodwill are great for this) and make notes for necessary adjustment. When in doubt size up! It is always easier to make your dress smaller if necessary. |

| Answer: | Suede cloth looks great, but most any heavier weight brocade would work well. In my job as a costumer, I use a lot of upholstery fabrics because of the way they hang and drape. However, be sure they are not rubber backed as it makes them too stiff. |

| Answer: | I would measure from chest/waist/shoulders. Add necessary inches to back and equally to middle of each front side.. Thiswill give a more even fit . XL. should work just fine with small adaption and you will find it easier than you think. Make it withmuslin before you use expensive fabric. Good luck. If you look at the pattern tissue, it will show you where to make more room if necessary. |
