Glass doors usually let you see the camera's view, but you will need to turn off the night vision LEDs in the device settings, or the glass door will reflect them back into the camera, obstructing its view. Metal and mesh screens may partially or fully obstruct the camera's view and may also reflect the night vision LEDs. If Motion Detection is enabled, most outer doors will also prevent motion from being detected by Door View Cam until the outer door is opened. It appears fine on my Android phone, but I pretty much do everything on my computer. I'm at work at home Cybersecurity engineer, so I like to see everything on my computer. I have 2 spotlight cams (over garage and one over the backyard) 2 of these indoor cams in my house (1st floor) and the Ring doorbell. I can see everything but the indoor cams that cover my 1st floor of the house. I have read via threads and forums though that the software is going to update this year sometime and they will eventually appear in the Windows 10 app on your computer systems, so that is a plus. The Ring devices check for updates themselves over your wifi network, so I'm assuming they will update themselves at one point and they will appear on my Windows 10 app one day soon. I'm hoping...it's one of the main reasons I got these. I want to be able to monitor and check on my three dogs on the first floor of the house, while I'm working in my office on the second floor.

Answer:	I have inquired about the same issues. You can do a pie, and then exclude any of the 3 zones of the pie, but apparently, they took away the most useful functionality of their entire system. The new camera only allows the arc to go 1/2 of the view range making the usefulness limited at best. Support has reached out to try to “help” but in lieu of a software or hardware change, I’m not sure what can be done to rectify the situation short of getting a Gen 2 camera with the better controls.

Answer:	Two things: 1) If you plan on ONLY using it indoors, then go with the NEW cheaper $60 Ring camera. It is intended for indoor use only AND still uses the old motions zones instead of the motion arch. Plus it offers all the same benefits as this camera (except it is indoor use only). 2) I too had a similar question when I purchased the new Ring Indoor camera for $60. My solution was to purchase an Amazon Smart Plug. Then, in the Alexa app I an event to at a specific time to turn the smart plug on and a second event to turn it off. I don't need the camera on when I'm home and I wanted a way to automate the process. Answer:	If you point it towards the garage can it can monitor it. If the garbage can was already stolen then no it can not time travel.
Question:	Do you have to get the Ring Protection Plan or will it work without one
Answer:	One day after installing a Ring 2 , Rings notification came up to sign up for a plan. There is no workaround to get access to the Ring devices functions as any attempt leads back to the notification screen. Be aware that ring is useless without the basic plan at $30.55 per device.
Question:	Will it cause videos that upon watching a little girl comes after you
Answer:	🤣🤣🤣 Hope I do not see any little girls with long black hair in their face nor a woman jumping off a cliff when mine is set up.🤣🤣🤣
Question:	Is there a difference between the ring 2 and this ring(2nd gen) doorbell as the ring 2 had many problems
Answer:	Yes. The product names are VERY CONFUSING so pay careful attention. This is the second gen of the RING DOORBELL, the standard, "entry-level" version of the product. It has a built-in battery, which means, in order to recharge the doorbell, you have to take the entire doorbell off. The RING 2 is the upgraded product, which has a "quick switch" battery. I have 2 batts, keep one charged so I can swap them as needed. RING 3 is the upgraded, new version of RING 2. Essentially the same with a couple new features. Hope that helps.
Question:	Lost platinum wedding band in 5 ft of water. Can it be used to locate
Answer:	Only the base of the detector can be submerged. The top of the unit is not water resistant. 5 ft is too deep. I've used my unit in up to 2 feet. There are full water resistant units outhere.
