User questions & answers
Question: | Do these work with first act acoustic guitars |
Answer: | They should work with most guitars. My guess is they will be way too long, but can be cut down. Make sure you do it after stringing and cut both wires on the wound strings so they don't unravel.I had to cut off about 8 inches on my acoustic Seagull. |
Question: | Have a EJ200 Epiphone. Would like to replace strings. What type of D'Addario strings do I use |
Answer: | I have a 45 year old Martin d-28 I use the extra light strings EJ 15 3 Dbecause I like to fingerpickthey have a very good warm soundif your guitar is fairly new try the light gauge strings they sound very good too and you can buy 3 packs for under $15 at Amazon. D'Addario makes a good string and I find they last a long time. I highly recommend! |
Question: | I bought these for my son and the first two strings broke when he was putting them on. We are on the third set in twenty minutes |
Answer: | When you put on a string, you have to allow enough slack for the string to coil around the tuner post. Feed the string through and leave enough slack so you can pull the string about 4 inches above the fret board and then slowly wind it up and as it tightens, pause once in a while let the string stretch. Some strings can take a day to stretch, some don't. Be patient. Good luck...but if you don't leave slack for coiling strings will break. |
Question: | So does this come with all 6 strings? Im completely new to guitars |
Answer: | Yes, this is a full set.Specifically this is a set of 3. If you want just one select the 1 pack. (I tried to include a link but Amazon defaults it to the 3 pack for some reason)It is possible to look up and find individual strings, but honestly that ends up being more difficult in my opinion and for the cost you might as well grab a set.I am fairly new to guitars as well, so let me just take a moment to say these strings are highly recommended. Great choice. |

Additional features include a hand inlaid wooden rosette, gold tuning machines with pearl buttons and a rosewood fingerboard. An adjustable truss rod is built into the neck. This is a great guitar for anyone looking for a lightweight, comfortable, and easy playing instrument. The Cordoba Cadete is easy to play, thanks to the 3/4 body size and 1.88 inches nut width. User questions & answers
Question: | What is the total length of this guitar |
Answer: | Total length (end-to-end) is 37 1/4" vs 39 3/4" for my full-size guitar. |
Question: | Did this include a gig big |
Answer: | The Cadete. does not come with a gig bag. It must be purchased separately. Sorry.Daniel Calido Guitars |
Question: | String spacing at the nut and saddle, and neck width |
Answer: | According to the Cordoba website, nut width is 48mm, string spacing at saddle 55mm, and neck width is not listed. I own an older model of this guitar (2007?) and the neck is probably large U shaped in comparison to other smaller size guitars that I tried out like the baby Taylor; but far more comfortable to me, which is one of the reasons I purchased this guitar. |
Question: | Does it have pegs for a strap |
Answer: | No strap pegs on this classical-style guitar. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Please clarify—is this right or left handed? One comment says it is a great left handed guitar? I’m confused |
Answer: | The listing you have here is for right handed. There is a C5 Lefty, but it is a totally different listing. Thank you, Daniel Calido Guitars |
Question: | Can this product be used by right handed people by changing order of the strings |
Answer: | I agree with the previous response that you have to change the nut, but you also need to change the saddle as the bass side is higher than the treble, not much, but enough to cause buzzing on the bass strings sometimes. You can try it and see. If it buzzes on the basses, then you need to get a new saddle, too. Do you have a C5 lefty you want to convert? If not, then just buy a regular C5. If you are trying to convert, then contact us and we can send you a right handed nut and saddle. They are not expensive. Good luck!DanielCalido Guitars |
Question: | Does this guitar have a high action from the 10th fret onwards? Would the action be that of a classical guitar or a steel string acoustic |
Answer: | This is a traditional classical guitar, so the action will be consistent with a classical guitar. The only difference with this model is the cutaway. That being said, our shop can adjust the action of the instrument before shipping. If you prefer lower action, let us know. There are limits to how low it can be, however. |
Question: | How does the c5 spruce compare to the c7 sp |
Answer: | Both are solid Spruce top, the C5 has laminate mahogany back/sides, C7 has laminate Indian Rosewood back/sides. |

User questions & answers
Question: | What gig bag do you recommend for this |
Answer: | Cordoba 1/4 Size Guitar Gig Bag is the exact match. I bought one from sweetwater for 50$. |
Question: | Is there a truss rod |
Answer: | There’s a truss rod and a key comes with it. One thing to bear in mind is that unlike the mini, This doesn’t ship with a case or bag. |
Question: | Is this guitar recommended only with Nylon strings |
Answer: | Definitely. Steel strings are a no-noon a classical guitar because the tension pull of the steel strings exceeds the design strength of the top. Classical guitars have thinner tops and lighter bracing under the top for reinforcement. Steel strings will eventually warp the top and cause the bridge to pull up. It also sounds bad. Get a smaller scale steel string guitar if you wish to playonsteel strings. Cheers. |
Question: | My mini guitar was strung with Savarez strings- what kind of savarez? There are many types -I love the strings & want to get a backup set- tension |
Answer: | The strings on the Mini II EB-CE are Savarez 500CJ high tension Corum strings. They are good, but you might want to give Savarez Cantiga Premium 510AJP a try. They are amazing strings and sound wonderful on this guitar. Sincerely, Daniel Calido Guitars |

User questions & answers
Question: | how heavy is the neck? I found truss rod on classical guitar make it pretty heavy |
Answer: | No, I will not buy another nylon string that doesn't have a truss rod. |
Question: | the bridge is still in place but I can easily slip a thin paper under it in the central part from the back, nearly 8mm. No glue there. Is that normal |
Answer: | I would say that is not normal. It sounds like the top is warped. I would contact the manufacturer it should be warrantied. |
Question: | Strangely the tuning peg button broke on the bass 6th string. Can anyone recommend a replacement? It spins now it's cracked, making tuning impossible |
Answer: | Contact Córdoba. They have very good customer service. There is a three year warranty on the guitar. Contact me if you need more help. Calido Guitars |

Answer: | The C9 parlor is all solid wood, cedar top and mahogany. The Dolce is solid cedar top and laminate mahogany back and sides. Thank you, Daniel Calido Guitars |

User questions & answers
Question: | I've heard that there is an issue with the bridge sometimes coming off. Does anyone know if Cordoba has addressed this |
Answer: | I've purchased about 80-90 Cordoba's for my classes, from C1 to C5s over the past few years. I've had three bridges break on me in that time, one on a C5 which I was able to fix, the other two were on C1's and were not fixable. So yes, it can be an issue, but the percentage I think is very low. It has never happened to me on a C3 and those are the most heavily purchased through my school. |
Question: | what is to total weight of the cordoba c3m classical guitar |
Answer: | The exact weight I don't know, but it is the weight of most standard sized classical's |
Question: | for this "cordoba c3m classical guitar" , could you recommend a hard case to buy |
Answer: | The Cordoba hardcase works well and has a humidifier pod built into it. This combined with the reasonably tight seal provided by the lid helps to maintain the humidity level and stops cracks from developing in the body of the guitar. I've also found it helps to maintain the guitar in tune for longer periods of time. Not cheap ($100 to $130) but should last a life time and can be used for a more expensive classical guitar should you choose to upgrade in the future. Had mine for several months now, driven approx 2,600 miles with it in the back of the truck and its kept the guitar perfect. |
Question: | Which is the better buy for the price difference: Yamaha C40, Cordoba CP 110 or Cordoba C3M |
Answer: | I don't really know... but... we were looking for a 3/4 size Cordoba C3M Cadete which we ended up purchasing from a different dealer. We were shipped a full size guitar instead of the 3/4. Apparently the model numbers are the same for both but we ended up with a full size the first time and had it marked up before the instructor had had a chance to look it over. Just a warning to make sure you are getting the correct size guitar as they might have the same model number. I have one guitar instructor that just loves the Cordoba brand of guitars and would like to see us buy more. |

Cordoba C3M Acoustic Nylon String Classical Guitar
One of the most popular models and a staple in the Iberia Series lineup, the Cordoba C3M is a full-sized, handcrafted guitar. It is built with a solid cedar top, mahogany back and sides, and traditional Spanish fan bracing. The C3M also has a hand-inlaid wooden rosette, a rosewood fingerboard, and nickel plated tuning machines with pearl buttons. The 'M' in the title stands for its light matte finish.
C3M Full Specs
Solid cedar top, mahogany back and sides, rosewood fingerboard and bridge, black ABS binding, natural satin finish, 52mm nut width, 650 millimeter scale length, Savarez Cristal Corum strings in High Tension (500CJ).
Traditional Craftsmanship
Nylon string guitars are built more lightly than steel string guitars, allowing the soundboard to vibrate and resonate more freely. The fan bracing pattern gives the center of the soundboard more surface area to vibrate, and respond to the tension of the strings. A more responsive soundboard makes the guitar louder, and provides better tone. Like all Cordoba guitars, the C3M comes equipped with a lightweight, two-way truss rod that allows you to adjust the amount of relief in the guitar's neck.
More About the Iberia Series
Iberia models range from half to full size, and feature solid Canadian cedar or solid European spruce tops with African mahogany, cypress, or Indian rosewood back and sides. The scope of the Iberia series is quite broad; whether you're browsing for a student model, traditional classical, traditional flamenco, or a stage-ready nylon string guitar with a cutaway and pickup, you'll find what you're looking for! These completely handmade guitars are lightweight, with a warm, resonant tone and comfortable playing action.

User questions & answers
Question: | Do you have to use cordoba mini strings or can you use any brand of E-E strings on the Cordoba Mini guitars |
Answer: | I have never tried regular strings. The Cordoba Mini strings have ball ends on the basses, but you have to take the ball ends off the trebles that are on the guitar and put them on the new strings. Something of a chore to do. Not sure why they did this. It would be very difficult to take the ball ends off the basses and put them on a regular set of classical guitar strings, but it could be done.Great question!DanielCálido GuitarsEDIT: I agree with Chris Z. - DO NOT use acoustic steel strings! They will damage the guitar because the tension is much higher. |
Question: | Could anyone tell me if once tuned 1 full step lower the strings aren't too loose? Thanks |
Answer: | The strings are fine at one full step lower. Just a little less tight, but they sound fine.Daniel |
Question: | Do these strings give a fuller, lower tone....I would think so but can't find many people who have swapped them from the A to A strings |
Answer: | The strings do produce a lower-tone. The real benefit is that they allow you to play the mini exactly as you would your full-size guitar. I think that the A-A tuning is standard on the mini because it allows ukulele players to play uke tunes on the bottom four strings. Also, the A-A strings are a bit "brighter" which some prefer on a small body instrument. |
Question: | Can these be used to replace A tuning Strings for Cordoba guilele also |
Answer: | I have never tried them, but they should work ok. The scale length on the Mini is 510mm and the scale length on the Guilele is 432mm so they are plenty long enough. Should have similar tension, too. |

One of the original models in Cordoba’s Luthier series, the Cordoba C10 is built with the choice of a solid Canadian cedar top or solid European spruce top with solid Indian rosewood back and sides. The C10 features a fan bracing pattern, which gives the center of the soundboard more surface area to vibrate and respond to the tension of the strings. A more responsive soundboard makes the guitar louder, and provides better tone. The C10 is the perfect choice for the serious classical guitarist, or for any player looking to upgrade to a concert-level instrument at an affordable price.
Like every guitar in the Luthier series, the C10 is built with Spanish heel construction, where the top of the guitar is attached to the neck, the sides are added next, and the guitar’s body is sealed by the installation of the back. This construction feature allows the entire instrument to vibrate as one unified piece. The C10 has the neck shape and flat fingerboard characteristic of traditional classical guitars, and includes the added benefit of a two-way truss rod built into the neck. Cordoba recently expanded upon the C10, offering two new options that appeal to guitarists from all backgrounds: the C10 Parlor, which has a 7/8 size body shape and 50mm nut width, and the C10 Crossover, which is a full size guitar with a slim neck profile, radiused fingerboard, and 48mm nut width.
Aesthetic touches like the mother-of-pearl weave rosette inspired by a 1920’s Domingo Esteso guitar add a touch of vintage elegance to this best-seller. Other premium features include an ebony fingerboard, rosewood bridge, high gloss finish, and Savarez Cristal Corum strings. The C10 includes Cordoba’s lightweight polyfoam case.
- Solid Canadian cedar top
- Solid Indian rosewood back and sides
- Hand inlaid Mother-of-Pearl "Esteso" Rosette
- Indian rosewood bridge with ebony fingerboard
- Includes Cordoba Polyfoam case

User questions & answers
Question: | does this guitar come with a case |
Answer: | No - this guitar does not come with a case. |
Question: | Can you recommend the hard case for this guitar here in Amazon |
Answer: | By all means get the hard case and use it to store the guitar whenever not in use. The cedar -rosewood combination is quite sensitive to humidity so follow Cordoba's instructions for keeping humidity at proper levels both inside the case as well as inside the guitar itself. their website has good maintenance information. |
Question: | Codorba" has many different models, I would like to know which is the large full size guitar? Thanks in advance |
Answer: | I have the C7 and I looked at a C3 in a guitar store. Both were full size instruments. By the way, I love the one that I choose. Rich, clear tone! |
Question: | Can i please get the width of the string spacing at the bridge, from E TO E |
Answer: | Hi Dave. In answer to your query about the nylon string distancing at the bridge of my Cordoba C7 CD classical, the span twixt 'E' at the 6th string and 'E' at the 1st string; that distance is just a tad shy of 2 5/16", more like 2 9/32". I hope that helps. Moreover, if you are shopping around for a fine instrument for the money spent, my Cordoba is wonderful. |
