Answer:	I didn't notice any red tint to the image, but the image wasn't as crisp to the edges as I would have liked and have seen in similar looking but probably more expensive ones, that didn't have any red coating. Ok for the price though.

How to use a red D-O-T finder:

First of all pull out the clear plastic sheet that is at the front and on the bottom - you can see this in one of the photos. This allows the battery to make contact so that the red D-O-T appears when you switch it on.

Next, try the finder by switching it on with the small rotary control on the side. Look through the hole at the front of the finder and you should see the red D-O-T and be able to make it brighter or dimmer by using that rotary control which is also the on/off switch.

Now set your scope up as normal but put the red D-O-T finder on instead of the usual optical finder.

Point your telescope to something like a TV aerial or a chimney - anything about that size will do, and the further away the better. Looking through a low power eyepiece (25mm is ideal) find the object by adjusting your telescope and focus the object. Adjust the mount using the slow motion controls so that the object is right in the center of the view.

Adjust the finder so that the red D-O-T is exactly on the object you were looking at. You can adjust it by using the two larger wheels. The one on the right at the front does the left/right direction and the one at the back on the bottom does the up and down.

Switch it off and wait until dark

You now use it by switching the finder on, then looking through the finder so that the red D-O-T line

Answer:	The monocular itself is wonderful. It's simple to use and has great magnification. The brace that holds the phone is not great. Since the lenses on the iPhone are not centered, it makes it difficult to manipulate everything. I have an iPhone X, so I don't know about the multiple optic ports.
Question:	Will this work if the phone is in a case
Answer:	There is nothing electronic about this monocular. The adapter is a phone holder.
Question:	This has 12x magnification power. If my smartphone camera has 8x zoom power, does it mean I will get 96 x zoom power (96 = 12 x
Answer:	The farthest star we can see with our naked eye is V762 Cas in Cassiopeia at 16,308 light-years away. Its brightness is magnitude 5.8 or just above the 6th magnitude limit. Thus the monocular can see slightly farther than that.
Question:	Does it work with iPhone 7plus
Answer:	Really, it's neither...probably about 8X. That works pretty well with this unit because 10X and above is very difficult to hold still by hand. A tripod could work with this unit but use your phone/camera timer. The magnification is NOT adjustable...there is no 'zoom' feature.

Answer:	We have enjoyed using this. It is very simple and a good value. The image on the screen is clear. Not sure if it will work for something as small as a bird but it was good for a sailboat 100 yards away. Hope that helps?
Question:	Is the tripod included as a part of the accessories of 12x
Answer:	There was no tripod neither in advertisement, nor in package of my order. BTW, monocular itself is an almost perfect device. Best of 7 different models purchased during last four years.
Question:	can you take a picture with your iPhone
Answer:	Yes, you can with the attachment they include. It is a little clumsy to do so, and the picture will be round (due to the round lens of the monocular). It will also be grainy, depending on how far your subject is/how much magnification.
Question:	Is this practical for star gazing/taking pictures of the moon with a phone
Answer:	You should get good results with a tripod and a phone adapter. The optics are excellent.
