Answer:	I’m not sure but I can tell you not to buy this model much less anything from atn. I was sold a defective unit and tried to claim warranty but since they no longer make this model they do not back their warranty. Very bad company

Answer:	There are two adapters available, one that mounts to a Pic rail and another that adapts to your scope. Both should include a 1x lens to replace the 3x lens that is included on the monocle. Be wary that they are hard to come by now and cost a couple hundred dollars.

Answer:	Animals and humans are visible out to several hundred yards but much beyond 100 yards or so they will just be a small blobs of pixels, very difficult to identify. I would say identifying a small animal like a coyote or rabbit is limited to about 50 yards or less, larger animals a bit further. Generally I would say this is a very short range thermal optic.

Answer:	That is a hard question to answer not having a range finder on my thermal. You can see thermal signatures well over a 1000yds, but here in East Texas I don't hunt anywhere that I could view that kind of distance, however at 350 yards, I can easily determine what animal I am looking at whether it is a pig, raccoon, buck or doe, I can even see a mouse at that distance. I know that may not be the answer your looking for, but I hope it helps.

Focusing the Solo

The focus wheel is found on the eyepiece of the Solo. Simply turn the wheel until your subject comes crisply into view. Turn clockwise to focus on more distance objects, counter-clockwise to focus on objects that are nearer.

Attaching the Lanyard

1. Push the loop end of the strap through the lanyard attachment point on the monocular.

2. Take the opposite end of the lanyard and put it through the loop.

Answer:	We have enjoyed using this. It is very simple and a good value. The image on the screen is clear. Not sure if it will work for something as small as a bird but it was good for a sailboat 100 yards away. Hope that helps?

Answer:	Yes, you can with the attachment they include. It is a little clumsy to do so, and the picture will be round (due to the round lens of the monocular). It will also be grainy, depending on how far your subject is/how much magnification.

Question:	Some reviews say they love the ZOOM. Is there really a Zoom or are people confused between focus and zoom
Answer:	The close-focus is 16.4 feet according to the Vortex website (and, based on some of the other answers, it's sad that they are clueless to the advantages of monocs/binocs for close-viewing; their loss). Good question. Thanks, shiftstick. (PS Most of my binocs are about 5 foot close-focus range, so this is a little on the long side, for sure). Bye now.

Answer:	Close focus is 25 feet, a little fuzzy at 20 ft. I use mine to spot bullet holes in a target when shooting with iron sights at 50 yards. Works great!

Answer:	It's A LOT easier to hold steady a 8X than a 10x...not always you are going to be calm enough to hold steady a 10x...Steadiness it's crucial.

Answer:	There is no zoom, only focus.

Answer:	it is a good mono for the price. you can see at night but not like night vision. you nee good moonlight and or streetlights illuminating the area

Answer:	If you close one eye, this monocular is exactly the same as a pair of 50x12 binoculars, so lots of information if you google search "binoculars for stargazing." Short answer: 50mm gives you reasonable light gathering and 12 will give you quite a bit of magnification (and small exit pupil--good for older eyes). A tripod is especially useful for sharing what you are viewing with someone else, as one person can find the star cluster and then share the results without having to teach everyone how to find it in the night sky. Unlike many binoculars, this monocular has the screw mount for easy direct use with a standard camera tripod! I use my heavy duty camera tripod all the time for this purpose. The tripod that comes with the camera is tiny, but could be (just barely) OK if it is standing on a table--otherwise, it's only 1 1/2 feet tall! As for magnification: you won't get great results when viewing planets, but you won't need a motor drive to keep up with the earth's rotation either.
