Answer:	My 3 year old son pulled the eye pieces off which allowed the small lenses to be removed. The lenses are obviously a choking hazard so I exchanged them assuming it was a bad pair. The second pair they sent me came apart within the first hour also. I would not buy these if there is a chance your child may put small objects in their mouth.

Answer:	I think it will fit a 5 year old, but I wouldn't buy it again. It's magnification is barely noticeable, and the string that goes around the neck is a thin nylon cord, capable of cutting into skin if pulled on very hard, or getting a rope burn. I'd keep looking.

Question:	Just to clarify these are the latest version of this series? It says V201. Is that correct
Answer:	Per an email from a Vortex rep, these binoculars (V201) are the latest and best offering from Vortex. Beware of Model VPR 4210...this is an older version of these binoculars and they have inferior optics, a narrower field of view, poor edge-to-edge clarity, etc. A certain outdoor equipment supplier (rhymes with Schmabelas) is trying to unload these as the latest and greatest from Vortex. They're not!!!

Adjust Eyecups & IPD

Enjoy comfortable viewing even if you wear eyeglasses. Simply twist the eyecups up or down to see the full field of view. Keep the eyecups fully extended if you aren’t wearing eyeglasses or sunglasses.

The IPD (interpupillary distance) is the distance between the centers of the left and right pupil. Your binocular also has an IPD. To see a single image free of shading, rotate your binocular until its IPD aligns with your eyes.

Focus Your Binocular

For the best views, use the center focus and diopter to adjust for vision differences in each eye. Choose an object that is about 20 yards away from you and perform this two-step process:

1. Close your right eye or cover the right objective lens with your hand. Look at the object with your left eye and adjust the center focus dial until the image is in focus.
2. Close your left eye or cover the left objective lens with your hand and rotate the ring until the object is in focus.

Lens Care

Follow this two-step process to gently clean the exterior lenses of your binocular.

1. Blow away any dust or grit before wiping the lens. Use a can of pressurized air, soft camel hair brush, or acrylic optical brush.
2. Gently remove smudges, fingerprints, and eyelash oil from the lens. Use a small amount of water or your breath to moisten the lens then wipe away smudges with a clean lens cloth. Isopropyl alcohol can help remove marks like fingerprints.

Answer:	Actually the the Razor HD 4000 does have magnification (7x25), and is not solely a rangefinder like TexasDean stated. That said, a 7x25 "monocular" (Razor) vs a 10x42 "binocular" (Fury) really is no comparison view wise, especially in lower light settings. Also the number on the model indicates the max range capability, so the Fury HD 5000 can continue to measure up to 1000 yards beyond the Razor HD 4000's ability.

Target Mode Selection

The Fury HD 5000 provides two target modes: Best Mode and Last Mode. Best Mode Your Fury HD 5000 comes preset to Best target mode. This is the standard mode providing the range of the target with the strongest range result. Best Mode is the recommended target mode for most situations. Last Mode Displays the farthest distance when panning and scanning. This mode is ideal for ranging a specific target behind a group of objects like brush, trees, rocks, etc.

HCD (Horizontal Component Distance) Mode

HCD is intended to be the primary mode—used for most rifle and archery shooting applications. The yardage number displayed is the critical horizontal component distance. Use the HCD range mode in the following situations:

• Rifle shooting on level ground at any range and all archery shooting.

• Rifle shooting out to ranges of 400 yards with moderate slopes (15 to 30 degrees) or to 800 yards with mild slopes (less than 15 degrees).

The HCD yardage number is corrected for shot angle and needs no extra input. Simply use the appropriate level ground bullet drop and wind adjustment for the range displayed and shoot. Archers use the appropriate level ground sight pin for the range displayed and shoot.

LOS (Line of Sight) Mode

LOS mode is intended for rifle shooters who are using slope correcting ballistic drop data cards, ballistic cell phone applications, or other devices with ballistic programs and who are shooting at distances beyond 500 yards and with slopes greater than 15 degrees. Most shooters and archers will not need the LOS mode.

The range number displayed in LOS mode is the actual line of sight range with no ballistic correction for slope. Most of the commonly used ballistic devices can provide independent slope correction for bullet drop data and require actual line of sight range input. Using the LOS range when calculating bullet wind drifts under these steep slope/long range conditions will provide a higher degree of accuracy than using the HCD range.

Scan Feature

The Scan feature can be used to range moving targets or help range smaller targets on uniform backgrounds, and works in both ranging and target modes. Once powered up, press and hold the Measure button and scan back and forth, watching for changes in the yardage number as the aiming circle moves across target objects. The illuminated 'Scan' icon display indicates Scan Ranging is activated.

Activate Scan Ranging by pressing and holding the Measure button down. Keeping the button depressed will continuously measure distance as you pan back and forth across target objects. The aiming circle will blink as you pan. Releasing the Measure button will return laser to the Power Up Condition.
