Answer:	Super bright enough! You have to long press to make it go to max brightness. Reading in the dark is exactly what I bought this for.

Answer:	Yes. Turn the light on by long clicking the multi-function button on the bottom of the light. If you press the multi-function button once, it turns on the bright white light, if you press it a second time, you will get a soft yellow light, pressing a third time gets you to the manual mode where you can then press the center of the top of the light to change to individual colors--stopping on the color and intensity of your choice. A fourth press changes the colors automatically. You cannot set it on a specific color in this fourth mode as it changes colors continuously at this stage. When you are ready to turn it off, long press the multi-function button again. The next time you long press the multi-function button, it will come on at the color you chose previously without you having to choose the color again. Or, you can choose a different color if you so desire. The end.
