User questions & answers

Question: I want to use this on two sets of speakers, one set for front height & second set for side surrounds and switch between the two. Is it possible
Answer: I have speakers throughout my house. The Pyle Six-zone box allows me to have music in most every room. Hook each speaker you have to the Pyle and hook the Pyle to your receiver, speaker A or B. I have mine on B. Connect your receiver audio to your TV audio. There is a separate button on the Pyle that you should always keep positioned to on (button in). That is the easiest I can make it for you. This box works perfect for me and has never shut off. Good luck to you.
Question: Does this switch allow me to control sets of speakers independently
Answer: I am running an older Technics amp 2x100 6 pairs of speakers at times so I would say yes. Just remember you are putting this amp to a lot of work if you're running 6 pairs of speakers so watch the temps on the amp.
Question: One person indicated what they believed the protection button was. Does anybody know? Pyle technical support apparently doesn't exist
Answer: Maybe. The more speakers that you connect the lower their effective impedance as seen by the amplifier. And the lower the effective impedance the higher the current that the amplifier must generate in order to drive the speakers to a specific listening level without distortion. Most speakers, particularly the less costly ones, have a nominal 8 ohm impedance. So if you are driving one set of such speakers the amplifier will be seeing an 8 ohm load. But if your amplifier is driving 2 sets of such speakers the amplifier will be seeing 1/(1/8 + 1/8) = a 4 ohm load; if your amplifier is driving 3 sets of such speakers the amplifier will be seeing a 1/(1/8 + 1/8 + 1/8) = 2.7 ohm load, etc. With 6 speakers your amplifier will be seeing a 1.3 ohm load. And this would be a nominal and typically maximum load; in practice the load fluctuates depending on frequency and is effectively lower for short periods of time. Some amplifiers are designed to drive such low loads but many are not. If you try to do that with such a low current amplifier for a long period of time you will burn up the amplifier. That is why speaker selectors like this one have a protection button which basically adds a resistance in series with the speakers in order to increase the impedance seen by the amplifier. This will reduce the overall efficiency and you will notice that you have to increase the volume to get the same amount of sound as with the protection button off.So, if your amplifier has a sufficient current capability to drive those 6 speakers to your desired listening levels, great. If it doesn't, and if the listening level is too low for your tastes with the protection button on, you will need to either settle for lower volume or get a more powerful amplifier.
Question: How do I hook this up to my 5.1 receiver
Answer: The sound is great there is no distortion.

    User questions & answers

Question: Will fit on slider rack shelf with 16 inches wide and 15 inches deep? thank you
Answer: Good question. There are two things you should know before you pull the trigger on this. Banana plugs don’t insert far enough to stay put, and since I have this box hooked up to amplified speakers I kept getting a buzz. I bought special banana plug pig tails which I ended up removing because of said problem. What did work very well for me was to remove the banana plugs and strip and solder the speaker wires then tighten the threaded part against the inserted wire in the hole on the shaft, a very tight connection and that worked great. The other issue is you can’t turn off one the speakers which was reported in one of the comments. It is annoying but for my application one set of speakers is downstairs with their own volume control so, I just adjust the volume on them when in use. Hope this helps.
Question: I don't understand the description. what does the a /b button at each speaker volume control mean? doesn't the speaker pairs selected play together
Answer: Hi, I have one of these (returning the 1st one due to poor speaker terminal , I find that it will accept a 4mm and thicker Banana Plug. Amazon's model was poor fit, but MediaBridge's plug in more securely. I have not fully connected my XtremePro yet, but I hope this helps.
Question: Can the speaker connectors take banana plugs as opposed to threading the wires
Answer: I may not be understanding your question correctly, but with this item I am using the volume control on my amp for the front speakers and the volume on this device to control the volume on the rear speakers. So yes, I can set one set of speakers at a different volume that the other. Again, if I am understanding your question correctly.
Question: So I can hook up 4 sets of speakers on my new Pyle unit all on one receiver without worry of damage? Looked like chart had impedence fall off to
Answer: Yes as far as I can tell. Aka-when I only have on speaker on and flip the switch to turn another group on, the volume drops. It’s not necessarily half the volume though.

    User questions & answers

Question: Can you tell me what the warranty is on this product
Answer: 300 is about right. Any larger and the spkr wires won't fit. 16 gauge max
Question: Can I connect this to my receiver via bluetooth
Answer: We have a 100W amp connected to our speaker selector (actually the 8 channel one) and we can drive both the floorstanding speakers in the main room and all 7 rooms with in-ceiling speakers around the house to any volume we like with excellent fidelity. IF you already have a receiver and you're thinking about a new one to use with the selector, you can always use the old ton and connect it to the second source, and now you have 2 possible kinds of music to switch around the house. WE have the Amp, CD, and IPad on source A, with an old receiver for AM/FM on source B, so we can have one program playing in some rooms, and a second in the other rooms.
Question: what is the maximum continuous amplifier power for which this product is compatible? The SSVC6 says 300W, but I can't find a spec for this one. THXS
Answer: Accepts Wire Gauges Up to 14AWG
Question: What do I need to look for in a receiver to pair with this volume control selectors
Answer: 14 gauge is tight but will work. You need to be very careful stripping the wire so you do not get stray strands while inserting. Another option is to use a short pigtail of 16 gauge and transition to 14 gauge. Impedance loss is linear so a few inches of 16 gauge will have no impact on losses

    User questions & answers

Question: I am installing in-wall speakers in multiple rooms. My question is what is the best cheapest in-wall volume controller that would work with this speaker selector
Answer: There is no difference in for the install if you mount speakers in the wall or ceiling.
Question: Several questions, How do you hook it to your stereo, I am hard of hearing so I hooked 3speakers to my stereo system, this is hooked to my tv when I turn it up some times it turns off by it self I do not understand that I would like more speakers all the 5 star reviews makes this product sound real good. the receiver
Answer: I think so. They mount with a screw and clamp. The screw is accessible behind the removable front grill. The speaker comes with a template so you know what size to cut out in the wall or ceiling. After you insert the speaker into the recess, as you turn the screw, it tightens the clamp onto drywall, securing it in place. Although it is designed for drywall, I think it will work on anything with approximately the same thickness (~3/4 inch thick).
Question: How Do You Hook A PSS6 Speaker Selector To A Pyle PCAU46A
Answer: I would recommend a 5.1 home audio receiver.
Question: can i play all 6 speakers at the same time
Answer: The pyle pta44bt would be a good amp for the speakers.

    User questions & answers

Question: Is the 300 watts per channel RMS with the impedance protection on or off
Answer: Ocuvite is another eye vitamin and mineral supplement from PreserVision's manufacturer, Bausch & Lomb. I believe it's lower-priced than PreserVision, if budget is a concern. Ocuvite is available in several varieties, including a version for adults age 50 and over with lutein, zeaxanthin and omega-3; Lutein-25 with lutein and zeaxanthin; and lutein only. A fruit-flavored gummy version of the lutein and zeaxathin variety is also available; the other varieties are softgels.
Question: I want speaker splitter for atmos speakers in the ceiling. my a/v receiver has only 1 set , left/right, height outputs. would this work for me
Answer: The first line in the product description states "beta-carotene free"
Question: Can this be hooked up to denon avrs730h 7.2 channel av receiver with built-in heos wireless technology ? if so, how would it connect
Answer: I found a label I had cut off and saved from SuperVision2 and one from the Bausch & Lomb AREDS 2 bottle. Ingredients for SuperVision2 are (per softgel): Vit C 250 mg; Vit E 200 IU; Zinc 40 mg; Copper 1 mg; Lutein 5 mg; Zeaxanthin 1 mg; Other ingredients are rice bran oil, gelatin, glycerin, water, beeswax, sunflower lecithin, caramel. The vitamins and minerals are exactly the same as B&L AREDS 2 label, but the B&L bottle does not show other 'inactive' ingredients.
Question: That answer was terrible, can you please say yes or no wether the unit can be bridged, then explain is it right+ left
Answer: I don't think there is a beta-carotene in formula 2. I was told to get Areds2 if I smoke or have ever smoked because beta-carotene increases the risk of lung cancer for someone who has ever smoked.

    User questions & answers

Question: can this replace my Pyle Pro PT
Answer: No, not the devices have the same functions!
Question: Ok, I bought the PT510 amplifier, and the PSPVC6 speaker selector, but not sure how to connect them together. Can anyone help
Answer: Ok I'm going to try and keep it simple. Normally, once the amp is connected the 'sound' travels out of the red/white or left/right speaker connectors that are attached then to the speaker system. In your case, think of the speaker box as a 'conjunction' (like the words 'and/ but' in a sentence)..so just connect the 'speaker out' on your amp to the 'speaker in' on the speaker selector box...then connect the speaker box to the 6 speakers...be ready with a small flat head screw driver to open each the speaker connection ports...it's a bit more tedious but assures a professional non clip in/out connection...good luck...and make sure every thing is off to avoid 'blowing out' of the speakers and/or unit.
Question: Does this have impedance protection - control against low ohms driving multiple speakers
Answer: http://manuals.pyleusa.com/PDF/PSPVC4-6.pdf The last few pages of manual shows impedance of turning on combinations of speakers It is the amp that needs to be 4 ohm stable, I have a Denon AVR 3300 and AVR 2500. The more speakers active, the lower the impedance, (ohms Law) and the more power needed from the amp According to Crutchfield, we need a 4 ohm stable amp, and the Denon family provides overload protection, and the Denon amps have a 8 ohm (default) and a4 ohm setting I already fried an Onkyo amp, running all the speakers at once, for an extended period.
Question: Is the Pyle PT510 240 Watt Amplifier a good receiver to use with this. I want to put sound in many rooms in my office
Answer: I am by no means an AV expert. This amplifier was recommended to me by our AV guy in order to amplify the sound for distribution into several rooms in which we have speakers. We primarily use this amp in connection with an Apple TV device to play music from our iPhone or iPad in our kitchen, den, family room and outside speakers. Hope this response is helpful for you. Kind Regards, Robert

    User questions & answers

Question: How does this connect to my existing yamaha receiver? i have 2 polk towers in speaker a, and 2 in speaker b. i just want to add 2 more bookshelf
Answer: According to the manufacturer: Speaker Burst Output Power: 12 Watts, RMS all channel; Speaker Max Output Power: 3 Watts, RMS per channel (2 channel);Frequency Response: 55Hz ~ 20 kHz. Hope this answers your question.
Question: Will this unit allow me to use my rotel 2 channel amp for music or use the same speakers through another amp for 5.1 tv audio when i want to switch
Answer: The HD version is made of aluminum while this one is plastic. This one is also slightly larger. The sound quality on the HD is better also. It can go louder, has more bass, and is also more clear. They are both excellent products for their prices though.
Question: Is this what I need to add speakers to my Zone
Answer: It is compatible, but can only connect via a 3.5 mm audio cable (sold separately) or bluetooth, as these are the only connections the Kindle Fire has.The NFC function is only available via NFC-capable devices, such as select newer android devices.I bought two of these speakers (one black & one pink) for me and my son to use with our Samsung Galaxy phones. He has the S3 Mini and I have the S4, both equipped with NFC (Near Field Communication). They work perfectly with our phones via NFC.The audio quality for the speakers themselves is pretty good, as to be expected with Creative Labs, BUT you have to also take into consideration the audio capabilities of the device you're using it with. If you use it with a high-quality phone, such as the Galaxy S4 or S5, or plugged into a good computer (like my Alienware), then you're going to have great a great audio experience. But if you use it with an older device, such as an older cell phone or mp3 player, or an older model tablet/computer, the audio quality won't be as good. Your audio settings run off the SOURCE device, NOT the speaker.
Question: Can I run both sources at the same time
Answer: Yes, i use it on zoom all the time. YOu just have make sure your zoom settings have picked the microphone.

    User questions & answers

Question: will the Monoprice 109995 accommodate 14 gauge wire
Answer: According to the user manual, it can accommodate up to 14 AWG.http://www.monopricehub.com/files/manuals/9995_Manual_130103.pdf
Question: the output of my Denon 1912 is 90W per channel. This is rated at 70W. Can it support my Denon
Answer: My Pioneer Elite (Model VSX53 if you want to double check the specs) is rated at 110 w/channel and this splitter works just fine. I've had no issues.
Question: Can I use this in reverse? Multiple amps to one pair of speakers
Answer: In theory you can. Use the speaker select switches to hook up the amplifier speaker outputs. Hook the one set of speakers you wish to share to the connector labled amplifier input. But be warned DO NOT select both amps at once. If you are lucky, you will blow the speaker fuse, if it’s got one. At worst you will trip the amp protection circuit or blow an internal fuse.
Question: can you run all 4-channels at the same time
Answer: I could not get the darn thing to work at all. I bought a NEW Denon 5+1 receiver and had extra cables to outiside deck speakers (should have gotten 7+1) that could not hook up as I had four surround plus sub and center channel in LR. Thought this would allow me to get the outside speakers working like a splitter that I could turn on and off. Was wrong or either not using correctly but does not very complex. I pushed every single combination of buttons and never got any sound to go through outside OR inside.
