Answer:	It's a polyester blend but very pretty--I purchased 3 but it's been a while.

Answer:	It will work to glue seashells on but may not stay on very long as the straw falls off. I wouldn't do that unless i could anchor them.

Answer:	I take a metal coat hanger and use wire pliers, cutting enough wire to make a hook. I press about an inch of both ends into the straw, making a "vee" to hang on the wall. I used the wreath to make a pine cone wreath.
