Answer:	There are two specs for this kind of audio--optical and coaxial. The optical terminal is flat on three sides and curved on the fourth side. If both your TV and cable box have such inputs, this cable will work fine (although this particular one is only 3 feet long, I think). Coax inputs look more like normal RCA inputs (round)-if your digital connectors are coax this cable won't work for you. Best I can tell you without seeing your setup!

Another possibility is that if you're trying to use a mono headset that has mono audio and a microphone channel with a device that is expecting you to use a stereo headset with microphone that has 3 audio channels.

Answer:	I don't think this will work with a Fire HD 6. I say that because, based on the description of the HD 6, it only has one port. I purchased this cable for my Kindle Fire HD 7" (2nd Generation) which has two ports. The first port is the same one that your Kindle HD 6 has, which is for charging it or connecting it to a computer. The HD 7" has a second, smaller port that can be used (with this cable) to connect the Kindle to an HD television. This allows me to connect the Kindle to the television in my bedroom or living room and watch shows from the Kindle on the TV screen. The HD 6 doesn't have that second port so this cable would be useless to you. I hope my explanation makes sense.

Answer:	I think so. I specifically purchased the older version Kindle Fire HD 7" (Previous Generation-2nd) because I wanted two ports. The first port is the one all Kindles have which is the port used for connecting to a PC or charging the device. The second port (the reason for purchasing this cable) is the Micro-HDMI (micro-D connector) port for high definition video output to televisions or A/V receivers. I wanted this second portbecause I wanted to be able to lie in bed (or on the couch) and have a cable that's long enough to connect my Kindle to the T.V. and watch whatever. (At the time, I don't think the HDX 8.9 was out yet) From what I saw on Amazon, I didn't see a Kindle Fire HD 8.9 but I did see a Kindle Fire HDX 8.9 and its description of the ports says: SlimPort enabled USB 2.0 (micro-B connector) port to connect to an HDTV or VGA monitor with an adapter or to a PC/Macintosh computer, or to charge your device with the included PowerFast charger. Since it says there is a micro connector like on mine, I'm guessing that you'll be able to use this. I know this is a long and involved response but I did the same thing when I purchased this cable because I didn't want to get the wrong thing and have to go through the hassle of returning it and trying to find the right thing. This cable is 15 feet long and perfect for being lazy.
