Installation Steps
Step 1: Adjust the rod length which fits your space best.
Step 2: Hold the rod with both hands and push the rod out horizontally and then rotate the rod until it is 1 or 2 inches longer than the opening (depending on the size).
Step 3: Pull the extending part back to create tension and adjust the rod to the appropriate horizontal position.

| Answer: | Another idea is to cut out rounds to fit without seeing pads out of the soft sponge like rubber non adhesive shelf liner material the mesh or the solid both work well. If you do not want anything to show ever choose a color as close to the pole itself or wall as possible. (I use the spring rods outside on a 24 foot long covered patio that the sun bakes to death in summer. I hang white canvas outdoor fabric panels on the poles that can be removed easily or pulled to the sides and also I'm making some panels to be roman shades to pull up too. I need the pull up ones for the long 24 foot expansion. The expansion wall has 4 dividers approx every 6 feet apart but our automatic over night sprinkler system soaks the curtains even pulled off to the side etc. So a shade that can be pulled up would be perfect to be pulled up and miss the water over night. I've yet to work out the entire design. But for the ends I am now adding grommets to the panels I made earlier to run on the ballbearing style shower curtan rods so that you can pull them to one side or the other and this is about a 10 foot width so I have choice of going with one sewn size pieced panel the full length or to make more of a drape style with 1.5 to 2 times the width to hang loser with rounded pleats like the newer rod hanging curtain panels you can purchase today. I definitely do not want to pleat the panels as in older fashioned drapes. I bought enough fabric to drape the whole length of the patio roof but hubby had a fit when I was designing a frame to hang the fabric from to avoid laying on the shingles. He insisted the frame wouldn't support the fabric. So as much as I would like to add a shade cover to the roof itself sometimes one needs to compromise and I turned to these rods and hanging panels that can be easily handled during the season and removed to store in off season and also wash and wear well. (So it's kind of an on going experience and experimentations too. The 24 foot length divided into six foot widths is also tapered down to less than 6 foot high. A beam makes it even lower. I also cut double bubble white/aluminum dual sided insulation material to velcro to inside rafters cut to fit in half 48 inch lenth panels so approx. 16 x 48 & requires 2 to cover inside 10 foot ceiling. It's amazing how much it cools to touch the ceiling but not the ambient air. Thats where the canvas panels come in. Temps drop into 40-low 50's most nights and if you drop the panels early you capture and retain the cooler air. Usually 2-5 is the hottest time of the day. But you can open all panels to view out if that suits the situation and day better. Love these as they usually do not require end caps though you can buy those. But I do need sometimes to use the additional pads I cut out from the rubber spongy like shelf liners. I love that stuff and prevents a very large lead glass bowl from moving that a cat seemed to find fun to rock to the edge of a table as well as our custom made pottery cookie jar and several other small and larger ceramics and glass wares about home from sliding or slipping about. And best thing is you can't see it usually if it's cut slightly smaller than the item sitting on it. So yes if you are looking to hang clothes via hangers temporarily from the dryer and it's not too long an expansion where the rod does get a bit weaker the further out so buy up if it still fits your length so it is stronger and I see no reason it wouldn't work for you. |

| Answer: | My shower stall is about 41" in width and there was probably another inch of play. So the narrowest this rod can manage is about 40". But you can easily modify the rod to fit a narrower width. If you need it to accommodate 34" then just remove 3" from each rod end. Not as plug and play, but at least this way you get a brushed nickel finish rod. The only rods out there that fit those small sizes are either AL or white and they looked kind of cheap to me. |

| Answer: | Odd question. I can only say they are certainly wide enough to support a heavy shower curtain without any slippage after a couple months of usage. I would have to take the rod down to measure, and I won't do that. I can only say that it has performed outstandingly in every way ease of adjustment and usage for its intended purpose. I would recommend it to anyone who wants to be free of eternally adjusting one of the many other ones I have used. Put another way, the ends ard big enough to do the job just right. |

| Answer: | I don't know what all these people are talking about. Why wouldn't a tension rod hold wet clothes? What are these, soaking wet super-absorbent clothes for giants? We used a tension rod to dry clothes in our shower in a tiny apartment, and it worked well until the tension rod eventually broke. It didn't break from holding clothes. It broke from being twisted the wrong way.What's gonna happen if someone puts wet clothes on it? Do you imagine the rod snapping in half? Will it bend into a weird shape so that it can't hold tension? Exactly why do you all say a tension rod can't do this task? It's a tension rod - designed for holding the weight of a heavy plastic and heavy cloth curtain. If it can do that, it can hold it's length in wet clothes. |
