Answer:	Because you need a 4 wire cable for microphone capability. This cable only has 3 wires in the following configuration also known as Tip- ring - sleve #1 sleve= a common ground wire #2 ring= a signal wire for left ear #3 tip= a signal wire for the right ear. You need a tip + ring + ring + sleve cable.

Answer:	I have a Samsung Galaxy S9+ with a battery pack protective case. Its about 1/2" thick all the way around. Pretty much every 3.5mm headphone cord doesn't work, the plug in's are just not long enough. I bought the extension, FosPower (5 Pack) 3.5mm Male to Female Auxiliary Stereo Audio Headphone Jack AUX Adapter. They are so good in less that a week i ordered 10 more. I give them to friends with the same problem. 1 friend had to take her case apart every time to instruct her fitness classes using her phone for the class music. I think a lot of people don't know about the extension, i recommend buying more than 1 because they are small and it is easy to misplace it because you will take it everywhere you go! You won't be sorry that you bought 5 or 10.

Answer:	I use them in my 2009 Pontiac G8 GT and have experienced no issues whatsoever. Cell phone plugged in and running "Waze", radar detectors running, laptop and the list goes on! The material that came with then made no mention of it.

Answer:	8mm Wide for the silver part. But notice the gold part above the silver part with Anker, it's 6mm Wide x 2.5mm Depth. If your case is only 2.5mm thick, and will fit 6mm wide, you should be OK. If thicker case than 2.5mm, you would need to have 8mm opening for the cable to work good. Hope this helps!
