Answer:	I can’t imaginr hiking in these, it would not be comfortable at all. They are heavy, rubber, hopefully weather proof boots for snow and slush. They are kind of stiff, with very little give. I got them for when I have to be out in the freezing winters, shoveling, dog walking, ect., not for when I want to be outdoors for enjoyment.

Answer:	I don't think they run wide- pretty normal sizing. My daughter did have to try a couple of types of Columbia boots before she got one that fit her foot correctly.

Answer:	I tried 9.5 and 10. The larger size fit better. These boots are so warm I do not need to wear heavy socks with them.

Answer:	It is good. I often wear these boots to walk my dogs.i will sometimes go for a short run and my ankles feel fully supported and stable.
