Answer:	They may not technically be work boots but I am a land surveyor and I put these through every environment you can imagine almost on a daily basis. They are by far the best I have ever owned. On my 6th pair now and pray they don't ever stop manufacturing them. They may not be made for a shingle roof, but they stick pretty good to steep rock faces.

Answer:	Just ok. The original sawtooth felt great right out of the box. The II series is stiff heavy and HOT. I would not buy again.

Answer:	Oboz b-dry are waterproof. Regular oboz are water resistant, light rain will penetrate the boot. If you are looking for a waterproof hiker go with the B-dry. Just a note because they are waterproof they tend to be hotter if you are hiking in warm weather. I own both and vary what I wear depending on the weather. Great hiker!

IMO Amazon should have shown the seller with both shipping and return free first.

Answer:	IPX rating should be an 8. I have stood in water for over 20 minutes with my feet completely dry. The most comfortable boot I have ever worn! Average traction in deep harden snow. Keeps foot warm if you are constantly moving when temperature is 20f and below. Excellent for hiking. I use them to walk the dog through woods, swamps and snow. Been great with lighter and heavier socks. Size ran very true for me.

Answer:	I have Salomon hiking boots that are made with essentially the same materials, and every so often, depending on frequency of use, I will apply a liberal amount of nikwax to the exterior to restore the water repellency so that water sheds of of the leather and doesn’t get saturated.

Answer:	Sent them back. They were way to narrow and, they did not feel stable and solid. Very poor quality!

Question:	What temperature are these rated for warmth
Answer:	These shoes are very comfortable, good on hikes and good just commuting (a lot by foot) to work. However, I do think the rubber is hard and slippery and researching the topic actually landed me here. In the wet Seattle winter, I've slipped on downward sloping boards, large river boulders, and downhill sidewalks. All that is even more unfortunate since they have proven to be very waterproof but I no longer go to these shoes when things get wet as I'm worried about traction.

Answer:	Yes, they are good in the snow, but you do need to wear a medium warm sock.
Question:	Is the tongue fabric area under the laces waterproof also? i want a serious pair of hiking boots that will stay dry in all terrain
Answer:	Hello, The Sawtooth outsole will be a bit more flexible and you will be able to feel the ground under you a bit more. However the Granite Peak is a more robust sole designed so you don't end up with any pain in your feet from rocks you stepped on or roots.

Answer:	not yet, and hope I don't. I've only had them 2 months and it has snowed and rained during walks, my feet have stayed dry.
