User questions & answers
Question: | is it an original or a replica |
Answer: | I don't what the insulation rating is for these but my feet are warm every time I wear them. You could wear an extra pair of socks and I think they would be very warm. |
Question: | I wear size 10 and 10.5 but the problem is that that boots don't have 10.5. will size 11 be okay for me since i have narrow feet. thanks, sd |
Answer: | They do not have any fuzzy lining or Thinsulate for warmth. I do not find them warm enough for winter even with padded wool socks . When wearing them my toes get cold when temperature drops into the 30's.Even the 40's. My feet do get cold pretty easily so they might work for you if yours do not. They are wonderful, comfortable boots but not for the coldest winter days.. |
Question: | I typically wear a boys 4.5 but need the steel toe to be covered by work. Would a size 6 be the equivalent |
Answer: | I build custom orthotics. The boot can handle an orthotic that is the same thickness as the insole you remove. Any thicker in the toe or heel would make the boot too tight. You can have a higher arch in the orthosis, but remember that a higher arch raises your foot and it might make the boot tighter. I always get boots 1/2 size up and a size wider to accommodate my orthotics. It only adds 1/4 " to the shoe and is so much more comfortable. |
Question: | i am usually a women's size 9 in shoes but when i look at the size chart for these boots and i measure my foot it says i am a size 7. what size am i |
Answer: | I wear these boots on a farm with ordinary thickness socks in temperatures not quite 100 degrees F and have never had an issue. I have never actually "hiked" in them, but have spent hours walking and crouching so wouldn't imagine they would be too hot. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Mi número en Argentina es 38, que número debería pedir? Gracias |
Answer: | Not sure |
Question: | do they have a steel toe |
Answer: | That's a very broad question. OSHA standards are many. What I will say is that it and ANSI Z71 rated for the safety toe compression rating according to OSHA standards. Does that help? |
Question: | Do these boots have good arch support |
Answer: | No it does not, but the sole itself is anti-fatigue. |
Question: | are these good for multiple-day mountain hiking trips |
Answer: | Pretty much, my previous pair that I bought a year ago, I just started to notice a little water getting in. But dry all time up till recently |

Question: | How are these for ankle support on rocky trails |
Answer: | Yes. a little leather hangtag |

User questions & answers
Question: | Im inbetween 7 & 7.5? Considering socks should i order 7 or |
Answer: | Yes! I've used mine for several days hikes. For long cross country treks with a heavy backpack I use Danner's. |
Question: | Is the sole sturdy? Looking for sole that doesn’t flex/bend/twist |
Answer: | I have worn them through fairly deep puddles and have found them to be waterproof. I have not yet worn these higher (and better lined) boots through puddles for a long distance, but have worn them for a few hours walking outside and stayed dry. I don't know if you mean hiking for a long distance because I haven't done that. You may want to wear warmer socks if you're doing that because the rubber soles can make the foot bottom feel a little chilly - but it will not get wet! I've sworn by Timberland for many years and they still remain my favorite winter boot - and I have tried others. |
Question: | Have they proved to be really waterproof |
Answer: | Yes, great for snow. Not sure about the coldest temp. but it has been 0 degrees in Ohio and my feet still stayed warm |
Question: | I live in California and I’m looking for boots who are not too warm. Are these okay for a warmer climate |
Answer: | Yes, the fur lining goes all the way to the footbed and is very soft. |
