User questions & answers
Question: | Where can I buy nice brand sneakers? Is the price cheap |
Answer: | I wouldn't say waterproof, but very much water resistant. I've easily hiked through stream, creeks, and wet grass with them getting damp, but not soaking. I've only noticed them really getting this damp feeling if water enters through the joint where the laces start. It's easily my favorite choice of boot for all activities outdoors. |
Question: | Are these shoes good for plantar faciitis |
Answer: | I have Morten’s toe also and these boots work for me. Good luck! |
Question: | Are they slip resistant |
Answer: | I also wear an E, but Keen's always work well for me. The are wide in the tie which works. I would try a pair. It's really easy to return shoes to Amazon if they don't fit. |
Question: | The colors are incorrect on a couple of pairs of shoes. Customers are getting the wrong color sent to them |
Answer: | I used these to climb Quandary with a fresh dump of 24" of snow in a very wet spring. Yes, I got snow in my shoe as I sunk into extremely deep spots but it handled admirably and dried extremely quick. Very impressed that after such a long/wet/snowy hike that they dried and my feet showed no symptoms of being water logged or uncomfy. You can get those snow covers for boots and they fit these shoes just fine. Mine were the low cuts |

Question: | On the gel-contend 6...is the sheet rock/white more of a blue color or is it plain grey |

Answer: | New Balance 813WW (also good for underpronation), New Balance 577 (neutral pronation) |
Question: | W should fit but these are still too tight. I'm considering trying a 10W but i'd like to know the length from heal to toe tip |
Answer: | I wear a 6.5 to 7 in a shoe With surprisingly heels have been a 6.5 ( which I think should be a 7) The tennis shoes have been tight in the toe box area ( ball foot) So, I have been getting a size 7 I can measure if u like lmk Toe box/ ball foot is where the problem lies I would get the 10 |
Question: | I stand on my feet all day at work, would these be good for me |
Answer: | I work at a hospital and I'm on my feet for about 75% of the day and these shoes have been great! I used to have to wear gel insoles in my other shoes for extra padding but not with these. I also have chronic low back pain, but I find these shoes very supportive. I would recommend ordering 1/2 size up for the best fit. I usually wear a 7.5 but needed an 8 in these shoes. |
Question: | Can these sneakers pop a beach ball if you step on it and roll around on it |
Answer: | If you get the angle just right that ball will pop so hard it’ll knock you over! |

User questions & answers
Question: | What do the letters next to the sizes mean |
Answer: | C/d means wide width. A is narrow. E is extra wide |
Question: | Good for hiking? Going to grand canyon, want something comfortable |
Answer: | GREAT for hiking!! I think this shoe is outdated (i.e. this model no longer made,) but I still search them out to buy new online! Amazon always has some in my size *somewhere* lol. ANYWAY, FOR HIKING? ABSOLUTELY YES!!! I trained for a 5 day hike in the Grand Canyon with some lightweight hiking boots, and ultimately brought along and USED for the entire trip my Gel Venture 5’s!!! I did order a 1/2 size larger, because the hardest part of our hike was 10 miles down into the Canyon and needed that extra toe room. Also laced them up really well to prevent shifting in that extra 1/2 inch... and they were fantastic. Good grip and traction, and fabulous comfort all day. Highly recommended... I’ve had prob 5 pairs of these in the past several years. Hiking, walking, jogging, running, working; Whatever! These will keep your feet happy. |
Question: | C/d size |
Answer: | Women's size (8) feels true to fit. Men's (9.5) was returned for a wide option. Support in the shoe feels sturdy, and you can tell it's there. If you like more space order wide, it's snug across the top. Good stability for trails, thus the close quarter feel. |
Question: | Are these good for narrow, skinny feet and high arches? Most shoes now have a huge toe box. Thanks |
Answer: | I wear 10.5N or 11N in athletic shoes, 10N in other/dress/casual shoes. These only came medium width, but after reviews, ordered in 10.5B and have been great for me. I did remove insole and replaced with custom orthotics for plantar f. which has finally improved after more than a year of treatment and being REALLY careful of what shoes I wore. Back on site today to see about replacing first pair of these as they have worked so well. Have another pair of Asics in 11N that also worked well. Always wore New Balance in narrow, but made the switch after trouble finding narrows and problems with feet. I also have very high arches and narrow feet. Also wish more shoes came in 10.5, as often the 11's are too large. These worked. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Are these true to size or should I size 1/2 up |
Answer: | I am an 8 and I bought the 8. My toes are at the end of the shoe, so I could have easily gone to an 8 1/2. KT |
Question: | Is this a neutral shoe or a good shoe for an overpronator |
Answer: | Hi, thank you for your inquiry! The Asics Gel-Nimbus is a high-cushioned neutral shoe. We hope this information helps. Please let us know if you have any additional questions or if we can be of any further assistance. |
Question: | Are these for high arch |
Answer: | Yes this shoe does have some arch support. It also has great cushioning. Overall a great shoe |
Question: | Does the nimbus have more cushioning than the Kayano |
Answer: | Yes. Iirc, Nimbus has the most cushion out of all the Asics. If you're buying the Kayano for health care shifts, it's not an ideal shoe. Spend the money on a Nimbus, imho. If you're looking for a fast running, not jogging, shoe, spend the money on a Cumulus. I'm in healthcare and have 12 hour shifts. I also run. I've been an Asics fangirl for over 20 years and have always tried to find shoes that work for both to take out the guess work. After 20 years, I've found it in the Nimbus. My understanding is that the Nimbus is more stabilizing and has the most cushion out of all the Asics shoes, which I found to be true. When running on trails, I have felt stabilized from accidentally tripping from stepping on random sticks and small branches on the trail floor. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Are the soles none marking |
Answer: | My experience is that these shoes do not leave marks. |
Question: | Are they comfortable to run In for Cross Country both practices and races |
Answer: | I would not wear them for cross country practice of races. There isnt as much cushion to absorb the shock to the foot from running. Its much less comfortable than my last 2 pairs of Asics. |
Question: | Is this good for over pronation |
Answer: | You can search by pronation on ASICS website. I did not see this type of ASICS shoe listed as being good for over pronation. Here are some of the style of ASICS shoes that were listed as being good for over pronation: GT-2000 5 and 6, GT-1000 5 and 6, GEL-Kayano 23, 24, and 25, Metarun, Dynamis, and Roadhawk FF. I hope this helps. |
Question: | How do these compare to gel venture |
Answer: | I would definitely agree with another Amazon customer. This shoe is not at all like the gel venture 5 which i still have and love...the 6 is simply too hard! |

User questions & answers
Question: | i am looking for a womens size 7narrow (2a) asics running shoe |
Answer: | Asics run slightly narrower than New Balance for example. I have always worn 10.5 B (med) (womens) in Asics, I ordered 10.5 B in New Balance and they were too wide. |
Question: | How does sizing compare to the 6 series of this same style |
Answer: | I don’t know about the 6 series but I’ve found ASICS to be consistent as far as sizing goes. I wear a 7 1/2 in everyday shoes and an 8 in these. |
Question: | What are antipronation shoes |
Answer: | Gerard, It’s my understanding that this is a design feature to improve or provide “gait correction” so as to cause the foot to come down more centered and more evenly and better distribute body weight (the stress moving from heel thru arch to toes)while exercising. Some of us roll inward on our heels and others outward. With a more even gait it’s suppose to help relieve excessive stress on our joints. I hope that helps. |
Question: | How are they different from GT |
Answer: | I just got these yesterday and they are waaaay tighter. They hurt my feet compared to the 7. Cushioning doesn't seem as good. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Are these authentic asics |
Answer: | I don’t know what you mean by authentic but they don’t appear to be knock-offs. ASICS are the only athletic shoe I wear. These are great. |
Question: | Can this be worn in the Winter without my feet freezing? Seems like breathable mesh is a summer shoe |
Answer: | That’sa hard one to answer. My feet are always cold, but in the winter time I wear a thin wool socks in them and I’m fine. |
Question: | Does this have a prop 65 warning |
Answer: | You would have to contact ASICS re: the prop 65 warning. |
Question: | Does anyone know why the shoes have black specks on the white sole on one side? I thought maybe mine were 2nds but I see the black specks in the pics |
Answer: | The speckled area is a shoe support for overpronation. Overpronation is when your ankle rolls inward and can lead to potential pain and injury when we walk or run. The speckled area help stabilize and prevent the ankle & foot from rolling in. My son has to wear this type of shoe but anyone with neutral feet can also wear them. Hope that helps. |

User questions & answers
Question: | does this have roomy toe box |
Answer: | Yes, they have a roomy toe box. I find they fit true to size. I've been wearing ASICS for over 15 years size 8. The Novablast is a great shoe! |
Question: | Why dont these come in 8.5 size |
Answer: | I sent in a pair to Amazon today. We have had them in our stores but Amazon just opened up their warehouses for replenishment this weekend. So stay tuned we are sending them from our store to Amazon!! |
Question: | Feeback please. Would you recommemd this for someone who runs 39 miles weekly |
Answer: | After doing a bit of research for a new shoe for walking, ASICS Novablast was one of number of recommended shoes by orthopedists on a runner’s blog site. This shoe is very comfortable and has pretty good cushioning with neutral stability. I would really suggest that you try on a number of different running shoes because you should buy a shoe that matches your foot impact (pronator, supination, etc). The ASICS Gel Kayano is usually the best ASICS shoe. You may even consider Hoka One One which is another well-cushioned shoe since you haven’t specified what type of surface you run on. The Novablast is great for road running but not sure how well it does on trails (Hoka was designed by mountain trail runners). Hope this helps. |
