I have done the same thing using an electro-acoustic guitar. Remember though the degree of church and or distortion is determined by two things. Answer:	It runs from batteries, but very power hungry. The mains DC adaptor is unique to Yamaha and the charge over £40 for it. My suggestion. Avoid this product and buy a small VOX battery amp like the VOX mini 3, better sound and lasts all day on one set of better use also has mains adaptor. Hope this helps people.
