Answer:	i use hip and waist size as a guide. These panties are fairly stretchy

Answer:	I think you would have to ask the manufacturer their reason. However, as a seamstress, I have made undies many times and my guess would be because it is easier and faster. It is not only one less seam to sew, but also eliminates the time needed to position the pieces for sewing, then turn the finished crotch so the seams are on the inside, away from the skin. While the time difference for a few panties is not a lot, when thousands are being manufactured, less time, however small, means more profit. That said, I really do like these undies in spite of the unfinished seam. They fit well and are super comfy, plus they are high rise with the top at the waist which is a hard combination to find these days. Because of the kind of fabric used, the unfinished seam has not been an issue so far, at least for me.
