Answer:	I didn't - I wear 9 1/2 M and that's what I ordered. I wear them EVERY DAY, walk at least a mile on city pavement. The only way I'd go bigger is if I had wider feet but they fit fine and do stretch out a bit width wise (but not much). Nice sandals, feel like athletic shoes but much cooler. Highly recommend these! Answer:	Hi there, that’s what I wanted to know. Base on the answer is No arch, but it does appear to have some sort of shape like a foot. Lower in the heel then goes up a little then back to level of heel, but someone said total flat! If that so, then why are these considered hiking/active shoes, why would this company make a shoe total flat, when it’s a hiking/active shoe? Don’t they know how to make a shoe? Back in the 70s we didn’t have to cushion insoles and they were made out of wood, and because they were made the shape of a foot they were comfortable. Didn’t have foot issues like we do now! Including myself, up to 10 years ago my feet began slowing getting worse, and today I can be on my feet up to 2 hours when out and about.

Answer:	After owning an exact pair for over 7 years, I went through rain, mud, and everything in between during hiking. I wouldn't recommend these as water shoes, but as an all terrain shoe that can withstand water for brief periods without compromising the quality. I just bought 2 more pairs because my old pair was finally splitting on sole. These shoes were worn every day for about 6 months of year, so I have absolutely no complaints.

Answer:	Actually, what looks like a tube is a 4 1/4" stretchy material that has holes down the length in the center and Velcro strips along both edges. When the edges are brought together and the Velcro closed, you end up with the tube you see. So, you don't have to resort to using the existing holes as you could have a cord run through the Velcro if you leave a couple of sections with the Velcro open. Also, the material is easily cut if you want shorter lengths (it's about 40" long). I cut mine into 31" and 9" lengths.

Answer:	Hello, Like most companies, Keen does not offer replacement "components" for their shoes. The lace length is 36-45", which you can usually buy at drug stores or grocery stores. The insoles pull out of the shoes easily, but again, you'd be buying a replacement "over the counter" . We like the Pinnacle style by Power Step.
Question:	I was told to order a half size up when ordering Keens. Is this true

Answer:	I would try the size 11. I usually wear size 12.5, but since that's an oddball size I have to wear size 12's and hope they're long enough. I have narrow feet, but wear large woolSocks most of the time and still have plenty of room in the footbed.Keens will stretch and conform to your foot as you wear them, even if they're a little snug at first.

Answer:	I wear a 15 2e to 15 4e athletic shoes (Nike, Adidas, Rebock, New Balance). Keens tend to run wide. I bought them in a 15D and the fit perfectly. With my Keen hiking boots I went with a 2e so that I can utalize wool socks in the winter months.
Question:	How much weight will these withstand if something drops on the toe area
Answer:	Either gender can wear any style of shoe as long as it iis comfortable. As a general rule to fitting, women will "size down" 1-1.5 sizes when converting to a man's size. However, a men's medium (which most Keen products are in width) fit closer to a woman's wide width. For example, I wear a women's 10W ; and I convert to a men's size 8.5or 9 M. The similar style in a woman's shoe by Keen is called "Presidio".

Answer:	I used these to climb Quandary with a fresh dump of 24" of snow in a very wet spring. Yes, I got snow in my shoe as I sunk into extremely deep spots but it handled admirably and dried extremely quick. Very impressed that after such a long/wet/snowy hike that they dried and my feet showed no symptoms of being water logged or uncomfy. You can get those snow covers for boots and they fit these shoes just fine. Mine were the low cuts

Answer:	I've owned about 6 or more pairs of these shoes over many years. I wear a size 10 and they have always fit me well. Unless they've changed the sizing (unlikely), a size 10 seems true-to-fit.

Answer:	The Sparta is not waterproof.
Question:	are these water resistant
Answer:	Would only use for light industrial work. The toe is only aluminium and other parts of the shoe are also light weight, not offering much protection. I wear them only cause it's required in the press room at my employer to have "safety toed" shoes.
Question:	What are the differences between the Targhee vent and the Steen vent? Which is more breathable
Answer:	You could use them for kitchen work as they are oil- and slip-resistant (Mark II and SATRA). That said, they are not waterproof and they have an aluminum toe so they'll be heavier than a soft toe style.

Answer:	I don’t know about no blisters but these fit as well as their shoes. You’ll get years of service from them. I’ve worn them all day up to five miles cumulatively and have not had a problem. They are well worth the money.
