Lee reloading scales are precision instruments designed for use in the reloading of ammunition for firearms. Reloading scales are a critical component of the reloading process, as they are used to accurately measure and weigh gunpowder, bullets, and other reloading components. Here is what you should know about Lee reloading scales:
Precision Measurement: Lee reloading scales are engineered to provide precise and accurate measurements of the various components used in the reloading process, such as gunpowder, bullets, and cases. These measurements are crucial to achieving consistent and safe ammunition.
Reloading Safety: Accurate measurement is essential for reloading safety. Using too much or too little gunpowder can result in dangerous overpressure or underpowered rounds, potentially causing firearm malfunctions or injuries. Lee reloading scales help reloaders ensure their ammunition is within safe parameters.
Types of Scales: Lee offers various types of reloading scales, including beam scales and digital scales. Beam scales operate using a balance beam and pointer, while digital scales provide digital readouts for easier and faster measurements.
Portability: Some Lee reloading scales are designed to be portable and compact, making them convenient for reloading enthusiasts who may need to reload ammunition in different locations or at shooting ranges.
Calibration: Lee scales typically come with calibration features to ensure accuracy. Users can calibrate the scale periodically to maintain its precision.
Weight Units: Reloading scales can measure in different units, such as grains, grams, or ounces, depending on the user's preference and the reloading requirements.
Tare Function: Many digital Lee reloading scales include a tare function, allowing users to zero out the scale with a container or powder pan on it, so they can measure only the weight of the contents.
Auto-Off Feature: Digital reloading scales often have an auto-off feature to conserve battery life when not in use.
Capacity: Lee reloading scales come in various weight capacities to accommodate the needs of different reloaders, from those who reload small handgun cartridges to those who reload large rifle rounds.
Reloading Kits: Lee offers reloading kits that may include a scale along with other reloading equipment and components, providing an all-in-one solution for reloaders.
It's important for users of Lee reloading scales to follow reloading safety guidelines and best practices to ensure the safe and consistent production of ammunition. User questions & answers
Question: | Has anyone tried to use the Advanced or Ultimate Lithium Batteries in this unit |
Answer: | It works with small primers and large primers. I reload .224 in calibers .223, .223, .22-50, seating primers with this device. |
Question: | Does this scale come with a 'cup' or other device to pour the powder into that you can then pick up and dump back into the powder hopper or case mouth |
Answer: | I use federal primers and the Federal primer tray fits just inside the frankford tray, when i tip it over only about 3-4 primers end up the wrong way, very easy to just flip them over by hand , no flipping tray needed . On another note I reload for .45 auto rim and none of the Frankford shell holders would work, I ordered a shell holder #13 for the Lee autoprime and it fits fine. |
Question: | does this readout in Grains or just Grams |
Answer: | Yes in fact most other companies primer trays will fit. I assume you're talking about the Lee hand primer not the bench primer. I've been using an RCBS as well as the Franklin Arsenal that came with it. |
Question: | what about a warranty |
Answer: | Some of the included shell holders are cut wrong , so you might want to order a set of the lee priming tool shell holders. |

User questions & answers
Question: | are there any adapters for this mesure to make it case activated |
Answer: | start to finish(9mm) (resize to crimp) is about 100 per hour. i batch load, meaning i deprime/resize, and prime in batches. when i am ready to charge, insert bullet and crimp i can do about 200-250 per hour. |
Question: | Does this powder measure come with a stand |
Answer: | The dies will work as long as they are the standard dies and not the square deal b. |
Question: | How does this handle ball and flake powders? Does it leak |
Answer: | You'll need a full-length die, a bullet seating die (these should come in a set with shell holders but if not, a shell holder), case lube and lube pad (Hornady case lube and RCBS lube pad work really well), a case neck brush, a priming system (Lee dies have a priming tool that installs into the shaft of the press, but they also make a hand priming tool), primer pocket cleaner, a case length gauge/trimming system (Lee makes good cheap ones), a digital caliper to measure overall length, bullets, powder, powder scale (funnel too), small rifle primers, and of course brass. I would recommend getting a tumbler too. I have a nano one that only cost around $30. If you get this kit, it comes with a powder scale and funnel and both priming systems I was talking about. It also comes with a drop tube for spent primers to keep them all together until its time to dump them. |
Question: | How well does this measure handel ceylinderacle powder lile H |
Answer: | I personally feel the Lee Challenger kit is a better value. The principle difference between the two versions of Lee's single stage kit is the method of priming the brass cases. The Challenger kit comes with the Lee Autoprime XR hand priming tool, whereas the 50th Anniversary Kit comes with the Lee Easy Prime system that mounts on the press itself. In theory the Easy Prime system sounds better, but I've heard of it giving people difficulties if anything at all is out of alignment. The Autoprime handheld tool just works, and in my opinion it works very well. |
Question: | Does this come with a stand? Or do I have to buy the stand separately |
Answer: | No it is just tea bags |
Question: | ENVIA PARA O BRASIL? CEP 22720410 / SHIP TO BRAZIL? ZIP COD |
Answer: | No, this ginseng tea has no added sugar. |
Question: | Will this measure dump directly into a piece of brass without spillage or will I have to dump the powder into a tray & then dump that into the brass |
Answer: | I bought this a year or so ago. They are granulates and I think they were white. Flavorless, I donβt recommend at all. I gave them away. |
Question: | What are your experiences with consistency between each charge with this measure |
Answer: | Ginseng, itself, has caffeine. I would assume the tea does, too. |
Question: | Where is the lee precision safety scale made |
Answer: | Its doesn't taste like ginseng. |
Question: | What is the max it can weigh |
Answer: | Yes, it comes with 2 boxes. Hope this helps! |
Question: | How accurate are these, within .1 grain? They aren't very complicated, are they consistent |
Answer: | The potency for me. I used the ballerina for a while and when it stopped working as good I switched to the ginseng brand. Works like a charm! |

User questions & answers
Question: | Wondering if extruded (pencil lead) powders like varget bounce out of this pan when charged from above with a manual powder throw device |
Answer: | Using the smallest adapter should be fine, I reload everything from 223 up to 50 govt, and I can use the fitting in this set for everything. |
Question: | How big is the funnel port? I need to use it for filling pens & am looking for something that can pour into a 5mm hole. Will this work for that |
Answer: | It works for 40 S & W, which is essentially a shorter version of the 100MM |
Question: | Will this work correctly on a |
Answer: | I am assuming you are talking about the Lee powder through die. There are two funnels, the smaller of the two will and works really well, but the larger one will not fit, it is made for very large calibers like my 50/70. Hope this helps, Chris |
Question: | Will this work for .204 Ruger cases |
Answer: | No, you just mix and match the downspouts with the funnel part to get one that works. The basic one usually handles all the middle calibers, up to and including 44. You need to find the biggest ones for 45s and I even use one of them for a 50 cal |
