User questions & answers
Question: | Does it have same problem like other Asics- when worn, the big toes of the feet make holes in the shoe sooner or later |
Answer: | Generally when your big toe wears a hole in the top of the shoe, your shoes are too small. For shoes worn for running or walking, you should have a thumb's width of space from the end of your longest toe to the edge of the shoe. Any space less than that and as your feet swell during exercise or as you go up and down hills, your toe will hit the upper and eventually wear a hole. Trying sizing up a half size. We think it will make a big difference! It may feel big at first, but if your toes can spread out, you will be able to use the small muscles in your feet and avoid many common running injuries. |
Question: | Is this item Asics 100% authentic/original? I had bought one before from Amazon and it was a fake |
Answer: | What I got is completely original to the best of my knowledge. |
Question: | Where is this shoe made |
Answer: | Vietnam |
Question: | Are they waterproof |
Answer: | Not waterproof. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Are these good for everyday walking as I can’t run |
Answer: | I wear them for both walking and running. No issues with either. The gel nimbus are my favorite ASICS - because of their comfort and support. |
Question: | Should I order a wide because asics are known to run narrow |
Answer: | If your midfoot is broader, you may appreciate the extra room of a wide ASICS shoe. |
Question: | Are returns free |
Answer: | On prime, yes. |
Question: | So, gel nimbus 19, & 20 were great. Did not like 21 & 22. Are the 23 comparable to the 19’s |
Answer: | The 20 nimbus was great. The 21 nimbus was ok until I laced them differantly, than they were fantastic. The 23's are comfortable like the 20's. All fo the shoes feel like you are walking on clouds. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Assuming the X-wide is 4E, than the normal width is 2E |
Answer: | I bought a pair of these last week at a shoe store. I usually wear 14-15 EEEE. They usually are still not correct fit. I need wide width and a large rounded toe box, which these deliver. If this sounds like what you need then look no further. I went with the extra wide. Size runs true. |
Question: | Are the asics gel venture 7 shoes real asics or a knock off |
Answer: | They are real as far as I can tell. The box was mint and the tags were on the shoes. I've worn/oved ASICS for over 20 years but this particular shoe does not fit right, like 90% right. It's now my lawn shoe. |
Question: | Has anyone with bad planters fasciitis wore these? If so, how is it on the strain of your planters fascia |
Answer: | I've worn these with the Superfeet Green orthotics (recommended by a podiatrist) to mitigate the discomfort of plantar fasciitis. I now use Spenco Total support max. Both have worked well. |
Question: | Why do so many people in the reviews say these are "knock offs"? Makes me a bit worried about my order to be honest |
Answer: | I can't speak to the "knock offs" comments, but I can say that I have never been disappointed with Asics Gels. Walking up to 10 or more miles daily on concrete; there has been no better shot for fit, comfort and support. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Can i get these in a 11 x-wide |
Answer: | I do not know, as I bought a 9 wide. You may want to try other sellers. |
Question: | should you buy a 1/2 size larger |
Answer: | Yes, especially if your foot is on the wide side. I sized up from an 8-1/2 to a 9. |
Question: | How can I get a 4E wide ones |
Answer: | Hello, thank you for your question. To purchase 4E width shoes, you just have to select X-Wide/Extra Wide. |
Question: | How does this hold up against heavy runners |
Answer: | I am not sure what you define as heavy, but I am 215 lbs and they have held up great. |
Question: | WHat shoe compares to Kayan |
Answer: | I wore that model shoe for years then went to a lighter weight shoe with more cushion. Decided to go back to Kayano and the only difference for me is the shoe foot box may be a touch smaller. I still like the shoe. |
Question: | Good for indoor running and working out? I slip on certain surfaces in my current shoes |
Answer: | Yes great shoes I teach PE and they are life saver for my feet!! |
Question: | I wear a 9 in ladies so what would a 9 be in this men shoe? Thanks |
Answer: | I consistently wear the Kayano in a US women's 8.5 or a US men's size 7. That would lead me to think a women's 9 would be a men's 7.5. I like the men's colors better than the women's colors. Fingers crossed ASCIS has screwed around with the sizes. I hear complains about the width being too narrow as the past models. I have had no problems. Make sure you get free returns. That said I own models 20, 21, 22, 23, 24. So far no problem. I wear what they call standard width. As my shoes get miles I rotate to car, house slippers(plantar problems) to active wear then out to donation box. They do get miles just like a car tire. Shoes do age sitting on the shelf. I don't buy more than a year old model because I don't know how they have been stored. I wear a spenco walker runner insole(red one) for more arch support because of my plantar fasciitis issues. So far i feel good. It has been the best sneakers I've ever own. Good luck. |
Question: | is this good for standing like for 8-9 hours |
Answer: | I've NOT been satisfied with the long wear comfort of these shoes. I too walk and stand most of the day. I am a nurse practitioner and comfortable shoes are important. This particular model has been the only let down of the ASICS lineup. I do recommend the Cumulus or Nimbus line. I've also worn those for nearly the past 15 years and those two lines have not failed me. I've only own 3 pairs of the Gel-Kayano and this #26 was very disappointing. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Product description says "4e" but size selection lets me choose "8.5". am i getting regular or wide? i don't want "wide |
Answer: | While I would not consider this sneaker wide, I do have wide feet. These shoes definitely run a little on the "wider" side |
Question: | Are these goid for impact running |
Answer: | They have more of a 'spring' in your stride than a 'cush' to your step. They transfer shcok up to the lower/front knee, as opposed to other shoes which put that stress on the heel/ankle. Expect to extend your stride with these, they will propel you! Very energy-efficient. |
Question: | Do they have arch support |
Answer: | The 'hot spots' are at your toes, i have relatovely flat (not collapsed) arches, and there is no rub or heat on the arch. That tells me these don't have arch support, but my arches have no strain with these. I have used adidas climacools, which had rough arch support like solid plastic. I also use Fila At Peake for rougher terrain, the Fila are also more rigid than these Asics. Use these on improved surfaces like roads, sidewalks, etc and they work great. For trails or other unimproved surfaces, I recommend something more rugged. |
Question: | Are all shoes 4e? Even though they are options for 10.5, wide and x-wide |
Answer: | They are not. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Can orthotics be inserted in the footbed |
Answer: | C/d means wide width. A is narrow. E is extra wide |
Question: | If I start running south for a mile then turn 180°right which way wild my travel be? 😁 Then pivot & jump, like fast.. Will these be comfortable |
Answer: | GREAT for hiking!! I think this shoe is outdated (i.e. this model no longer made,) but I still search them out to buy new online! Amazon always has some in my size *somewhere* lol. ANYWAY, FOR HIKING? ABSOLUTELY YES!!! I trained for a 5 day hike in the Grand Canyon with some lightweight hiking boots, and ultimately brought along and USED for the entire trip my Gel Venture 5’s!!! I did order a 1/2 size larger, because the hardest part of our hike was 10 miles down into the Canyon and needed that extra toe room. Also laced them up really well to prevent shifting in that extra 1/2 inch... and they were fantastic. Good grip and traction, and fabulous comfort all day. Highly recommended... I’ve had prob 5 pairs of these in the past several years. Hiking, walking, jogging, running, working; Whatever! These will keep your feet happy. |
Question: | Are these sneakers warm or does air flow through them freely |
Answer: | Women's size (8) feels true to fit. Men's (9.5) was returned for a wide option. Support in the shoe feels sturdy, and you can tell it's there. If you like more space order wide, it's snug across the top. Good stability for trails, thus the close quarter feel. |
Question: | How are these on concrete?? Moderate running, About 4-5 miles about 3-4 days a week |
Answer: | I wear 10.5N or 11N in athletic shoes, 10N in other/dress/casual shoes. These only came medium width, but after reviews, ordered in 10.5B and have been great for me. I did remove insole and replaced with custom orthotics for plantar f. which has finally improved after more than a year of treatment and being REALLY careful of what shoes I wore. Back on site today to see about replacing first pair of these as they have worked so well. Have another pair of Asics in 11N that also worked well. Always wore New Balance in narrow, but made the switch after trouble finding narrows and problems with feet. I also have very high arches and narrow feet. Also wish more shoes came in 10.5, as often the 11's are too large. These worked. |
