As delivered new, this beanie is very snug and barely covers down to mid ear. I soaked mine in cold water for 5 minutes then stretched and tugged over my head. Finally, let it air dry at room temp fitted over 1 gal paint can to 'block it', preventing shrinkage. This worked for me such that it doesn't pull down as low as i'd prefer but its no longer so tight to give me a headache.
