Answer:	No, it is water resistant, it does fine when I ride in the rain. For the price this is a great seat, it wears well but it is a heavy seat. So if your goal is to reduce your bike weight this is not the seat for you. I ride my bike 30 - 50 mins three days out of the week and I cannot see any wear.
