User questions & answers
Question: | What are the female clips on the shoulder straps for? They're right below the compression straps that are at the top of the shoulder straps |
Answer: | I've put it under the seat in several airlines, including international, domestic and smaller airplanes. The bag does stick out a few inches into your foot space but has fit well enough on all of these planes to not be an issue. |
Question: | What size can the hip/waist belt extend to? Is there a pack available for plus size women |
Answer: | I keep asking the same question and nobody has a satisfactory answer apart from the vague and generic so I went to REI and tried on the various packs to figure it out once and for all: So regardless of weight, generally women have less space between the base of their necks and their shoulders, ie we don't have broad shoulders like men. The shoulder straps on the Fairview are therefore narrower which prevents them digging into the neck, and curve inward around the front of the shoulder and back out around the chest instead of straight up and down like the Farpoint, so it doesn't dig into the boney area of the shoulder near the outer end of the clavicle. The hip belt is attached at a slight angle, so it sits better on sloping hips instead of hips that go straight up and down like men's. As a minor detail, the Fairview also have clips on the straps where you can stowaway the chest strap when not in use, as well as attach a daypack. As far as I know the Farpoint does not have this feature, it only has elastic bands there. Then there are the obvious colour differences, and subtle differences in particular measurements here and there, but that's about it. The S/M is 40l, and the XS/S is 38l similar to the farpoints M/L vs S/M. |
Question: | Will it fit under seat in airplane |
Answer: | The new 2017 has a lockable, U-shaped zip for the main compartment just like the old model. Main differences are: Lockable laptop compartment at the back of the pack (including an additional zippered pocket inside the laptop compartment large enough for an iPad, which is also a good place for documents e.g. passport), front organisational panel does not have lockable zippers anymore. |
Question: | Can you list every difference between this and the Farpoint 40? Thank you |
Answer: | As far as I know, the dimensions are a little different. Same 46 liters and maybe more pockets. I went with the newer model for the color to my husbands dismay, since it's $50 more. |

Question: | Will this fit a 16" women's torso |
Answer: | Hi There! Since 2016 Booby Boons Lactation Cookies have been made in a peanut-free & tree nut-free facility. In 2018 the decision was made to remove the nut-free logo from lactation cookie packaging however the cookies are still made in a (monitored) nut-free bakery. I hope this helps! |
Question: | Would it fit someone standing at |
Answer: | A lot of moms do! (I did) I had a cesarean with my first and struggled to breastfeed and so I took Boons with me when delivering #2 and had a few with tea immediately after I delivered & I believe it really helped. Maybe it’s all the anti stress vitamin B in the brewed yeast that helped but whatever it was I didn’t have the problems I had with #1 and so I’m a fan of bringing them in the bag!! |
Question: | Is the backpack large (or small) enough to qualify as a carry-on if I wanted to use this instead of a standard suitcase |
Answer: | There is nothing on the list of ingredients for fenugreek. Here is a complete list of ingredients for the Cocoa Quinoa Cookies. Ingredients: Unsalted Butter, Granulated Cane Sugar, Oat Flakes, Sorghum Flour, Eggs, Brown Sugar, Cocoa, Chocolate Chip (Sugar, Unsweetened Chocolate, Cocoa Butter), Tapioca Starch, Nutritional Yeast, Hulled Millet, Sunflower Lecithin, Flaxseed, Vanilla Extract, Baking Soda, Salt, Xanthan Gum, Quinoa Flakes. Thanks for your inquiry. |
Question: | Looking for Backpack that can be used as a carry on but this is 10 inches more than airlines allow. They allowed it anyway? Has anyone had a problem |
Answer: | Hi there. Booby Boons cookies do not contain tree nuts or peanuts. |

Question: | Does this pack offer sleeping pad straps |
Answer: | It might survive if you get caught up in the rain. I am not sure it will, if you immersed them in water. I use wet wipes to clean them. |
Question: | Is this a good backpack for the Appalachian trail |
Answer: | I think it depends on your gear. I took this pack on a 2 day trip. I have a pretty big sleeping bag and pad. If yours is small, you could probably swing it. I clipped my tent to the outside on the bottom. There’s straps on the side you can shove some stuff in too. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Osprey says that it's compatible with attaching to the ariel series. does anyone have any photos of this? is it bulky to carry around attached |
Answer: | Depends on the size of the kit. The bottom of the main compartment is about 8.5” by 4” at the very bottom. Give or take a half inch here or there. Hope that helps. |
Question: | Can I set men’s toiletries kit in the bottom of the back. I fly with numerous meds. So this is important to me |
Answer: | I'm almost 99.9% sure it'll fit, a little snug but it'll work. I use mine for a 15.6" ASUS laptop and it fits snug. |
Question: | Can I pack an apple 15" macbook pro in the new osprey daylite plus |
Answer: | This pack is 20 liters and can hold a 3L reservoir. |
Question: | How many liters |
Answer: | I replaced the 2L that came with it with this one when I need over 2L, but otherwise I use the factor bladder: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001KZGYLS/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1With 3L in it, it is a tight fit and the bladder is taller than the one that came with it, but I thought it worked ok. That said, I don't normally carry 3L and if I did all the time, I'd probably want a bigger pack. The other option would be to throw a couple bottles of water in the side webbing pockets. With the other stuff I normally carry, 3L makes the pack pretty tight when it's full of water, but obviously as you drink it down, it gets looser. I can say I really like the pack overall, it's great quality. |
