Answer:	There should be a size chart for you to view in the description or close to it.

Answer:	I would recommend the 9-18 month size. The hat is slightly fitted and made of cotton so it doesn't stretch much. The tie underneath keeps the hat tight and secure.
Question:	What is the good size for a 13 month old? his head is 18.5in but I would like to keep it for a while if possible
Answer:	These hats have a draw string in the back to make it bigger or smaller. I believe I bought the 0-6 month size for my baby. He was 2.5 months and is now a little over 5 months. I haven't had to adjust it very much and he still has room to grow. They have a 9-18 month old size that I would imagine your 13 month old would be able to wear for quite awhile. I love this hat and plan to get him a bigger one once he grows out of this one. It's the only hat I use unfortunately for the other hats I have for him.

This was their response: "The UPF coating on your Swim Hat should not be negatively affected after one cycle in the dryer, however, we do not recommend continued drying cylces. Here is what Carter's website states; "We design our children’s sleepwear with a combination of fabrics and fits that do not require treatment with harsh chemicals to prevent flammability.
