Connection hints:

Do not connect a turntable directly to your computer. The signal from a turntable must be passed through a phono pre-amplifier or a receiver with a “phono” input that provides phono amplification. Otherwise, it will be too quiet and will also sound "tinny" due to incorrect equalization.

Do not plug stereo equipment into your computer’s “Microphone” port. This port is usually designed only for low level, mono microphone input. Answer:	This device allows you to use a camera that is not a webcam as if it would be a webcam. Your camera should be connected to the HDMI In and the usb c type should be connected to the computer. To record a live session you need a software to do so there are many software available some you need to purchase and some are free like OBS for example. I hope this answer will help you.

Answer:	It should. I don't know about cybershot camera but I use it with my Camcorder & with my Canon M50 camera. Works great.

Answer:	I haven't tried it but there is nothing in the set up that would suggest there would be an issue with that. This device wouldn't prevent it. I think it would just be a matter of which program/software/platform you're using it with - whether or not it allows multiple sources.

Answer:	If you're planning to use the lap top as a monitor, I doubt it. The latency is pretty significant - a few seconds.

Question:	will the encoder appear as a vidio input to Skype
Answer:	I don't skype, but I expect it would work. I use Linux, and it appears as a video input to programs I use, just like another webcam. One thing though is for my camera it isn't any higher quality than a regular $60 webcam. it's the same. I get better results from the camera when I pre-record to an sd card. So I guess keep that in mind. My camera is old though, so maybe newer or more expensive cameras are made with live streaming in mind where as mine isn't. Also, it takes more configuring than a webcam, to get the same results. For example, I have to set low-lux mode on the camera for it to work as well as the webcam which just works for this purpose out of the box. So it's a bit of a trade off in my case. The device works, however, and gives you the flexibility of using whatever camera you want, provided it supports hdmi.

Answer:	It does, but audio quality is terrible, and out of synch with the video. I am currently looking for a solution to this problem. I will let know the community when/if find any.

Answer:	This device is HDMI in USB out to computer. If the camcorder has an HDMI out it will work fine. It might be a mini-HDMI out so you will need a cable that is mini on one end (for the camera) and regular size on the other end for the device. The capture card should come with a double ended USB cable.

Answer:	With the repeater mode, you can unplug the ethernet cable from the router and put the Homebase close to your cameras to extend the wifi range.
Question:	Can I transfer the video from my old vhs to my laptop with this
Answer:	First and foremost you just plug it into an outlet. Then you can choose either the ethernet cable or wifi in the app settings. Hope this helps.
Question:	Would this capture sound from my stereo for LP recording
Answer:	It records in increments of time which you set from 3 choices. When the card is full it will overwrite starting with the oldest increment but will not overwrite locked videos. It is loop recording in pieces.
