Answer:	The Smart Battery appears to be very close to the size of the internal batter (my educated guess). The charging rate appears to be at about the same speed as charging the phone without the Smart Battery Case. The Smart Battery case keeps the iphone charged at 100% until the Smart Battery has been exhausted. When the iphone battery has been used after the Smart Battery has been exhausted, plugging in the charger causes both batteries both be charged at the same time.
