You would want to use the matching stickers (included) to cover up the holes where the shelves should be otherwise it will be noticeable there is a shelf missing. I don’t think it would affect stability. However, I would highly recommend anchoring it to the wall (parts to do this are included). We did it because the unit is quite tall and only has the legs.

Answer:	The touch is sensitive for the main screen, but I found it terrible when doing a workout. Answer:	The description states, "Holds up to a 11lb load and devices as thick as 0.4in / 11mm with the rubber foot insert and 0.55in / 14mm without it." So.....I think you're suppose to take the whole rubber foot piece/base out if you need a little more room. Not sure how much room that would allow for a case still, but I thought I'd point that out anyway. (Especially to those who have a thicker device in itself)
