I spend a lot of time working in my garden and yard and get a lot of sun exposure. I lather up before I go outside and after I get back inside and washed up. I have not yet been sun burned. I have used Emu Oil for probably about 20 years. One time I (stupidly) grabbed the handle of a pan I had had in the oven and immediately iced my burned hand until the burning stopped, then IMMEDIATELY loaded my hand with Emu Oil--several times--and I did NOT end up with burn damage--or pain, to my skin. My thoughts are that since Emu Oil is suppose to be similar to our own body oil, if we replace what the sun (or oven-hot pans) burns (which is our skin's body oil), fast enough that the heat doesn't get to damage our skin's body's oil, we have prevented the burn. That has been my experience over the decades of using Emu Oil. That includes the aging that happens naturally to our faces from constant exposure to not only the sun but all that nasty stuff we get exposed to every day (pollutants, dust, etc.) |
