| Answer: | DIFFERENCE IN INGREDIENTS: Vaseline is 100% Petrolatum. Aquaphor is only 41% petrolatum with 'inactive ingredients' as listed "Mineral Oil, Ceresin, Lanolin Alcohol, Pantheol, Glycerin, Bisabolol". DIFFERENCE IN APPLICATION/USE: Aquaphor goes on like Vaseline but doesn't stay sticky/greasy the way Vaseline does. I use it for my eczema rashes and its moisturizing/healing properties take effect even after just one application. This helped clear up my newborn's dermatitis when alternating with the Rx antibiotic ointment, which on its own was quite drying to the skin. I apply this to baby's face if we're going out and it's cold/windy and it DOES NOT attract lint or fibers like vaseline does -- again, because aquaphor doesn't stay sticky; it 'dries' after a few minutes but leaves the skin well moisturized. Also great for chapped lips! Personally, I won't be buying Vaseline again as this product works far better for mine & my family's needs. |
