Answer:	Both are quality built. Own both. First got and shaved with the Godfather. It's suppose to be more gentle on my 78yr old wrinkled skin. Previously been using the inexpensive Feather RE about $13. Using the included blade the Godfather cut me barely in many places. Not for me! Seriously trying to figure out why the cheaper Feather seldom to no cuts. Compared the blade space below to the guard bridge on Feather and Godfather. Big difference, Godfather much bigger gap. Just received the Chieftain. Compared to Godfather much narrower and similar to the Feather. IMHO, the Godfather butchered me. The Chieftain looks good. When my face heals I will cautiously try it. Until then the electric will have to do. It almost seems I got a defective Godfather of the blade was narrower, yes, it seems unlikely. BTW, I do not like the weight or bigger handle on the Godfather. Both tend to disallow light smooth handling! Others, likely, will disagree but that is my experience. Happy Trails

Answer:	I just purchased mine. As of 2020, this model Chieftan is different from the BAILI bd179. It's 10 grams heavier, has a thicker base plate, and has 4 lather holes on each side rather than 2 oblong ones. That's not to discount the BAILI at all. I just preferred the heftiness of the Viking. And you can get the "Odin Obsidian Black and Gold" for just a few dollars more as it's currently on sale.

Answer:	I tried to write about my blade piece being broken and was hoping I could get the piece replaced, but I must've asked in the wrong place on here. How can I get a replacement for the top of the razor blade. They do fall off and I put them back on but this one piece broke and I am inquiring about a replacement. Thank you.

Answer:	Compared to the Merkur 34C, the Chieftain BC seems to have a little more blade presentation, but I've liked the Merkur from the start and I like this a lot too. Frankly both have a good size and weight and both are easy to handle. Both have really secure heads with heaviness compared to some others. I have a Van Der Hagen butterfly model and I like that too, but it tends to be a little more problematic and has a head which isn't as heavy as the former two.

Answer:	I would like to counter what Susan said, in that, I put one of the sharpest blades (Feather, Astra) in this razor and I did get cut regularly. To prevent cuts, I really had to focus on holding the razor at the right angle. The less sharp blades didn't cut me up as much. This is face shaving, so maybe it works differently from whatever (legs, maybe) kind of shaving Susan has experience with.

Once she realized what caused it she's never had a problem with it since. I just make sure it's tightened down good before I shave. Fantastic razor.

Answer:	Super precise , not sure if anyone can answer that. They seem to be standard size. Just buy then if they don't work for your razor just return them. I was worried about fitting as well.

Answer:	I have used double edged blades since I first started shaving in the 1960's. Most blade manufacturers state their blades are lubricated by the coatings they place on the blades to prevent them from snagging on your skin as you shave. Its not a lubricant like oil, but a slippery coating similar to plastic that bonds to the metal for the short duration you use it. I imagine that exposure to water as you shave also makes the blades more "slippery". I have to admit, I have only nicked myself once with these blades and even that was a very small one, so the so-called lubrication must be working.
Question:	Are these blades reccomended for Women
Answer:	I wouldn't recommend these to my enemy. These were duller than the old blade I was replacing. Also, made in China poor quality.

Answer:	Junk like all the rest coming from China! There are limited ways to produce double edge razor blades and these are comparable to most competitors. Many younger people think if it says Japan, it’s got to be quality and this is a falsehood as most products were sourced and manufactured in Japan (same junk quality as China) but then companies started sourcing manufacturing to China because they got a cheaper deal. The bottom line is that most products designed today are created with a very limited lifespan in mind as this keeps consumers coming back for more and more. Junk is junk. . . . . A lot of companies will even advertise American in their advertising but when you dig deeper you will see that the product, parts etc., are made in Chine and shipped to America for the American company to put it in a box, hence the term American products. Very misleading industry today, it’s better to just stop spending, these companies are soaking every penny out of Americans and that is a clear indication that most consumers are simply uninformed.

Answer:	The blade is supposed to bend at the edges after the doors are tightly closed. This is normal on most twist to open razors.
Question:	Can this shaver be used to shave private parts, shave your head, etc? I've experience bad results with none adjustable types
Answer:	I've never tried using this razor on my head or private parts and quite frankly, I never would. This is a fairly aggressive razor and pretty unforgiving. I have very thick, curly facial hair so I need a hard core razor to get an effective shave. I'm an experienced DE shaver and I've still nicked myself a time or two with this razor. I'd recommend you use a less aggressive one, especially down there.
Question:	Adjustment plates dont seem to work, blade stays in one positionand wont adjust. What gives
Answer:	It could be clogged with soap scum but it's hard to say. You might try soaking it in a MILD solution of white vinegar and using a soft toothbrush. According to Viking Blades this model may require extra care due to the finish. You might consider contacting them.

Answer:	Hi Oleg, The Emperor has a very different head design.It has 4 lather channels on each side as opposed to the solid block design on the Crusader, making it less head heavy. The Emperor also has the settings engraved on the collar. The mildest setting on the Emperor is milder than the mildest setting on the Crusader- hence, the Emperor is a friendlier razor than the Crusader and is suitable for both daily shavers or people who shave every few days (as the lather channels helps drain thick soap scum and long hair). Answer:	I don't work for Amazon so I can't answer that, but the Weishi razor is very low priced and you get a good quality razor no matter which one you buy. I got my son the gunmetal razor and it was so cool I almost kept it for myself. If you really need one there are several good choices until the rainbow is in stock again. I have no idea if anyone else makes one.

How To Use The Bevel Razor

Hold the Bevel Razor at a 30° angle. To get this, just hold the logo on the head against your skin, now tilt the handle until the blade just touches your skin.

Keep each glide short, don't apply pressure and always shave in the direction your hair is growing. This is called 'shaving with the grain'.

Bevel Helps Reduce Razor Bumps

Multiblade razors can cut hair beneath the surface of the skin, which may lead to razor bumps and ingrown hairs.

Shaving with a single blade helps reduce irritation and bumps, while getting a close shave.

Prone to razor bumps?

We recommend you start off by mapping your grain first. Be sure to shave with the grain using alcohol-free shaving products designed to hydrate and soothe.

Step 1: Prime

A hot shower or hot towel treatment before you start is best. Apply a nickel sized amount of preshave oil to clean wet skin.

Use a preshave oil like Bevel Priming Oil that helps to protect against nicks, cuts, tugs and bumps during your shave.

Step 2: Lather

Add nickel sized amount of shave cream to a warm wet badger brush. Apply directly to your skin in strong circular motions. Use a bit of speed and pressure to whip up a foamy lather.

Set the brush with the leftover cream aside. You might need some more later.

Use a shave cream formulated with a high concentration of Aloe Vera, like Bevel Shave Cream, to keep your skin hydrated during your shave.

Step 3: Shave (With The Grain)

Keep the Bevel Razor at a 30° angle and shave with the grain.

Hint: Rubbing your hairs in the direction that smooths them down is with the grain. Mustaches typically only grow downward. So shaving your mustache downward would be with the grain. Now check other areas. Shave each with the grain.

Never shave over bare skin. If you need to make another pass, add more shave cream first.

Step 4: Restore

Rinse your skin with cold water to close your pores. Don’t rub, gently pat dry with a clean towel. Rub a nickel-sized amount of aftershave into your skin.

Use a cooling alcohol-free aftershave, like Bevel Restoring Balm, to soothe instead of sting.

Step 1:

Hold the razor handle and rotate the head counterclockwise until the top cover is released. Remove the old blade.

Step 2:

Place the new blade between the upper cover and the lower cover. Align the screws of the upper cover and insert. (Caution: Be careful of scratches by sharp blades)

Step 3:

Hold the handle and turn the upper cover clockwise until it is tightened to use the shaver.

Question:	I shave in the shower. Would I like a DE razor? Would it be OK to leave it hanging in the shower rack between uses
Answer:	If you're planning to shave in the shower then you'd probably want to buy a Weber handle to complement this razor. The EJ DE89 is too slick to use the shower. There is very little patterning or knurling in the handle and so using it with your hands wet or soapy would be hazardous. That's my opinion, I've tried and decided to buy the weber handle it works great now. IMO the head is worth the extra 40 bucks I spent on a handle. You can also buy a Maggard razor for 15 bucks and swap the handles out.
Question:	Can you use "gel" shaving cream with this or any DE razor? Used to use the brush and cup, but would rather not do that again if gel works OK
Answer:	Yes, you certainly can. I use a DE because cartridges are just too expensive. I get a slightly better shave with a DE than with a cartridge, which is a bonus. But I did the brush and cup for a while, and the whole ritual was more work than it was worth, particularly once I discovered Cremo Cream. I do still occasionally use an aerosol gel as well, and it works just fine for me.
Question:	There seem to be a good many people having a problem with failure of the screw portion of the razor. Is this a chronic problem with this particular razor
Answer:	This is because these razors are made from a zinc alloy covered with chrome. If the chrome finish cracks, water begins to eat away at the zinc beneath. The action of screwing and unscrewing the top cap wears down the chrome plating on the threads which is why they are a common failure point. You can help prevent this damage by not over-tightening the top cap.
Question:	Can this razor be returned for a refund after opening
