Answer:	I don't know about this flat iron, but I've used flat irons to dewrinkle shirt collars, cuffs, and where it buttons for years. My only concern with this flat iron would be the high heat. Based on the product description it doesn't seem adjustable.

Answer:	I can't say from a technical standpoint, but it's interesting that the head of the shaver (blade) is all metal on the 7040 and plastic on the 5065... not sure it has an effect, but interesting nonetheless...
Question:	how long are the plates? not the width but the length
Answer:	Very close. It has several removable attachments for stubble, beard mustache trim, but the main shaving attachment gives the closest electric shave I’ve ever had. The battery fully charged lasts quite a while without recharging. Depends on how often you shave and how long you do it but I’ve gotten a long time on one charge. Great shaver, made in Germany.
Question:	does this have a safety feature to automatically shut off after a certain amount of time to prevent fires in case you leave it on
Answer:	Currently we are not selling replacement heads.
Question:	Does it not close all the way? As in, do the plates touch

Answer:	Good depends on the person using at this time.
Question:	why does the flat iron has some kind of chemical smell when i turn it on? (it really bothers me coz none of my other flat irons have this smell
Answer:	This smell does go away with use overtime. This is typically something that occurs when the straightener is new.

Answer:	No. This is for 120 V.

Answer:	I bought this item last May (2012) because it was listed as dual voltage. When it arrived the specifications on it said it was not dual voltage. I called Remington and they said this model was once made dual voltage but not any more. I told that to Amazon but apparently they have not updated their listing. So unless things have changed this model is not 220volt capable.

Answer:	I would say it would on the longer part of your hair but the barrel is a total of 3 inches I believe so it might not work as well on shorter layers of your hair.
