Stay away from ALL silicones because they are not water soluble, meaning they create a build up on the hair, which keeps the hair from being able to absorb moisture and nutrients from a deep conditioner (without silicones of ANY kind), and hair mask, for example. Additionally, this build up eventually dries out the hair strands since it can no longer absorb moisture. Hope this helps!
