Question:	What does it mean when it beeps
Answer:	My original response was based on my 2012 Model GS23, and thanks to a comment on my answer, it needs to be revised. I see the newer GS23R model's instructions (available online) do say to use distilled water to prevent mineral deposits in the boiler that can reduce performance or clog the water system. I guess Conair may have had reports of clogs (or modified the newer model) and changed their instructions. (Original answer: The instructions that came with mine say "Open the inlet cover and fill the reservoir with everyday tap water (filtered water may reduce hard water problems)." I've been using tap water for 4 years, it's used about once a week, and it still works fine, no problems.)
Question:	Where is product manufactured
Answer:	I have been using this steamer for about three months now, at least weekly. Most of my pants and shirts are cotton, made in India and steam better than ironing. Have had no problems, I use distilled water, and I absolutely would recommend this steamer to anyone. I have had different ones in the past, and I by far like this one the best. I love the attachments that come with it as well.
Question:	Can you hit a burst of steam when the iron is down while ironing
Answer:	THE FIX: My device stopped working after first refill. Both lights were on and it made continous grinding sound, but no steam. Here's how I fixed it. No disassemly is required. No need to flush it with vinegar either unless it was used heavily for months. The problem is likely that air bubbles get in a line inside the steamer's handle which leads from a reservoir to a pump. Water pump is not powerful enough to create vacuum to dislodge the bubbles. 1. Fill the reservoir completely with distilled water. Make sure to top it off. The idea is to have as little air inside a reservoir as possible. Put the reservoir back in place. 2. Turn the steamer upside down. That way gravity helps water to clear air bubbles and get to the pump. Make sure to point the steamer away from hands, faces, cats, etc. while holding it in this awkward position. 3. Turn on the steamer. Tap the steamer repeatedly, not too lightly, but not too hard. This helps to dislodge air bubbles. 4. If you're lucky, after 10-15 seconds the sound from the steamer will change and it will start producing steam.
Question:	How do you turn the iron off without unplugging it
Answer:	My device wouldn't produce steam after just one use and a year in storage. So, from on-line reading, I figured the problem was an airlock (bubbles of water) trapped in the internal tube. It is otherwise heating and light indications are normal. So I let it cool, pulled out the water reservoir and placed it head down into the bath sink (do ensure the device is unplugged, cooled for this step). Take about three or four inches of aquarium air hose tubing (you can purchase it at pet supply). It's about 1/8 or 3/16 inside diameter. Push one end over the water supply inlet, inside the cavity where the water reservoir normally sits. Now take a medium to small size syringe. Fill it with water (best the pure kind you purchase at pharmacies - well you might just try air alone). Now forcibly use the syringe to flush a solid stream of water through the device internal tubing. Stand the travel steamer up. Removed the improvised maintenance hose. Fill the water reservoir and replace it. Now turn your steamer on, let it heat the required time and steam away. It worked like a charm in my case - steamed mightily. I am saving my bit of resourced tubing and the medium plastic syringe - with instructions - and storing it with my steamer device, since I only use it every six months or more. I know it will air or water bubble lock the next time round. I will be ready.

We suggest you to keep the iron one dot or turn off the steam selector when not in use, since this heats up really quick you do not have to keep in the highest settings for long time. Answer:	The outside of the straightener does not heat up. Only the heating plates on the inside heat. This item does also have the swivel cord feature and is very easy to hold and use.

Answer:	Mine never worked. But for reference, it isn't a good idea to use a hot iron on wet hair. It can cause damage to your hair.

Answer:	Just hold down the "down" temp button until the the padlock shows next to the temperature. To unlock, do the same thing until the padlock disappears (it beeps too). Answer:	The answer to this question is in terms of what you're looking for from your hair straightener. Chi is more expensive model, and is used by many salon professionals. The heat settings are more fine tuned and the plates are thicker and ionized, so your hair gets straighter faster. For someone who straightens their hair every single day..this is a better options because it'll last longer. Remington is a good alternative at a cheaper price for someone who likes to straighten their hair but doesn't do it all the time. Week/monthy maybe. It does heat up quickly and straightens your hair pretty well w/out burning the ends. It takes longer in time than the CHI straightener does. I personally like the Remington more, only because I don't use it all the time. I probably use mine on a weekly or monthly basis...or just for special occasions. It gets the job done w/out burning/damaging my hair. I have long (to my waist) thick wavy/curly black hair, and I get my hair straight in about 25-35 min.My roommate has the CHI. She has shorter hair (about shoulder length) that's course but straight. She uses the Chi straightener on a daily basis to keep the frizz down and to maintain the shiny look in her hair. Answer:	The iron doesn’t (in my opinion) get hot enough to do anything and I have super fine hair. I returned it.

Answer:	I have thick course wavy hair and it can leave my hair straight until I wash it again after 2 or 3 after straighten it.
