Answer:	It does not have a stopper. I have washed it 3x and no problems with zipper. There is a fold at each end and the zipper is hidden under a fabric fold all over the way around.

In term of soft means soft on it's surface which was made of kind of terry fabric (claimed as rayon fiber), you'll feel it's plush surface. However, looking at your current condition, mattress topper will probably suit your needs. Find a mattress topper with a nano/micro gel filling, this is much less expensive than down feather filling with nearly the same softness. When you got the topper already, then putting this mattress protector on top of it will defitinely solve your daughter's problem.
