Answer:	The current packaging (received 12/9/19) has no Proposition 65 warning, and the Amazon listing doesn't mention it outside of a few reviews and customer questions like this one. Nothing on the manufacturer website either. I would assume they've removed whatever substance it was.

Answer:	I would think they would be. They are quite durable. I put my plastic measuring spoons in the utensil basket and they’re fine. This would be very similar.
