User questions & answers

Question: Are they still as absorbent without a tumble drier
Answer: They are very absorbent but crunchy and stiff when not tumbled dry.
Question: I don't have a dryer. Is it possible to prep these pads just by line drying
Answer: It doesn't dry soon without a dryer. We line dry too and I don't use Grovia for that reason. I would recommend looking at other brands.
Question: Should you use these with a diaper liner
Answer: GroVia Stay Dry Soaker Pads can absolutely be used with a diaper liner. I recommend using GroVia Bioliners, which are a one-time use, disposable diaper liner, that fit perfectly when laid on top of the GroVia Soakers. I hope that helps answer your question.
Question: Does the polyester touch baby's skin
Answer: Nope! Only organic cotton touches the skin. The TPU is on the backside and keeps the cover dry.

Question: do these have SAPs (super absorbent polymers) in them
Answer: According to the Grovia website, they do contain SAP
Question: How are these on blowouts? Mostly breastfed...some solids. Do they hold na 11mo overnight? Thanks
Answer: My 3 month old is exclusively breastfed...they did not contain her poops most of which wouldn’t have been classified as blowouts had I used prefolds.
Question: Can I compost them in my home compost
Answer: This product is made of biodegradable and compostable materials.
Question: Would these work well as a booster in disposable diapers? I would like to use toxic free inserts with my honest co. diapers
Answer: I don't think so. These are made for a hybrid cloth diaper system, so they have a mostly leakproof backing to avoid soaking the cloth diaper shell. It would essentially be like putting your baby in two diapers.

User questions & answers

Question: Will these fit inside the pocket of a grovia trainer
Answer: They do - but I wish they were a bit wider.
Question: Are these pure cotton or do they have a dry fleece top layer
Answer: They are pure cotton, no fleece
Question: Are this necessary for newborn?? Is this to be used as an added layer to the other snap interior liner
Answer: I found these diapers too bulky for a newborn. I used the insert later on when my boy was 1yr old. I recommend using organic disposable dispers in the beginning, I used Bambo, they are hard to get, but he NEVER had a rash and they are 100% eco-friendly. I bought them in sears.com at the best price back then. Hope this helps!
Question: Has anyone used these as the only insert in a pocket diaper for daytime? How thick are they
Answer: They aren't very thick. Definitely a booster and not an insert. If your child is a heavy wetter so much that you need extra absorption during the day you might want to look at other diapers. Microfiber and pocket diapers leak easily and aren't recommended for heavy wetters. When microfiber is squished (i.e. a baby sitting on it ) it let's go of liquid and it's already confined some in the pocket itself.

Question: Is this one you can wipe the diaper shell and reuse a few times before washing
Answer: Yes. There are actually two tags, one under the other. The top tag reads Aden with website and bottom one is the washing instructions.
Question: Does it come with the inserts
Answer: I don't have a tummy sleeper but the zipper doesn't seem like it would cause a problem. It's pretty well covered with fabric and the zipper pull ends up at the bottom of the sleep sack.
Question: i nedd to now, if the insert is included
Answer: They are the same - sleep sack, sleeping bag, wearable blanket are all terms for the same thing. They can be made of different fabrics, though, like muslin, jersey or fleece.
Question: Does this diaper come with any of the soaker pads or is it just the shell
Answer: Medium...check out the sizing guide. Though if your baby is long, they might outgrow the medium quickly. The large is recommended starting at 22 lbs but the medium goes up to 24 lbs so there is some overlaphttp://www.adenandanais.com/shop/itemdisplay.aspx?ID=924&SKU=8078A

GroVia Reusable Organic Cotton Prefold Baby Cloth Diaper (Size 4)

  • MACHINE WASHABLE: Remove as much solid matter as possible. Place soiled diaper in a dry diaper pail. No soaking needed. Wash every 2 days using a heavy duty cycle on warm or regular hot with full amount of good cleaning detergent. Tumble dry low.

User questions & answers

Question: Is this listing for one prefold or multiple? I can't find it listed anywhere :x
Answer: Three prefolds come in the pack.
Question: Will these work with a snappie? Not just in a cover
Answer: Yes ... they are used often with a snappi to let the bum air out
Question: Has anyone used these for burp cloths? Do the size and shape make sense for that purpose
Answer: Since most people use cotton prefold diapers as burp cloths, yes this is the right shape for that. The size 4 is for older toddlers I believe, so it would be on the large size for a burp cloth - closer to the dimensions of a kitchen towel. Overall, I guess you could. When my child is out of diapers I will probably keep this in the car to soak up spills and accidents since it so wonderfully absorbent. However, I think most people use the cheap weave cotton (Gerber) as burp cloths, and use these expensive, wonderfully absorbent and easy to use cloth diapers for their manufactured purpose - a cloth diaper. Either way, remember that for about 6 washes or so, the more you wash/dry it, the more absorbent it gets.
Question: What size are these after prepping
Answer: Mine shrunk a little but they held up fine to prepping, I use them for 2 rangeing from 20 to 35 lbs, they lay flat in a flip or a BG 4.0 pocket.

User questions & answers

Question: Does this bag "sweat
Answer: I think it might a little. But since you use the PUL inside, the soft fabric on the outside absorbs the sweat. Some times it feels a little damp, but vey very little. Hardly ever notice any dampness. Hope this helps
Question: will this work for adult incontinence underware
Answer: It works for diapers, so I imagine it would. It is a waterproof bag, that's all.
Question: I can't seem to find where this mentions the size. I need a smaller than full 13 gallon size bag. Help please
Answer: It lists the size as 25" x 27". It fits a standard kitchen trash can (which is anywhere from 11 to 15 gallons). That being said this fits my 11 gallon trash can just fine. I'm not sure what size you need, but I would rather have a liner that's a little too big then one that isn't big enough. Know what I mean?
Question: What sort of pail do you use for these liners

User questions & answers

Question: Are these all in one or pocket
Answer: Yes.
Question: New to cloth diapers... what do I do with inserts after they’re soiled and waiting to be washed
Answer: I have a tub that I fill with water and put a little soap/detergent in it. I put the inserts only in the water. The outer shell dries quickly if left open draped over the side of a laundry basket. If soiled, I empty in toilet and hand wash in the sink with a bar of fels naphtha, then hang on basket to dry.
Question: will washing on hot regularly (to kill germs) cause damage over time
Answer: No, the washing machine or dryer won't get hot enough to damage the diapers. However wait for them to cool down before stuffing
Question: Are the inserts absorbable
Answer: The inserts that come with the diapers are pretty good at absorbing fluid, but I prefer the dark gray Alvababy inserts that you can buy, particularly for overnight as they seem to hold more and I sometimes double up, but you probably wouldn't have to. I love my AlvaBaby diapers, especially since they are a one-size-fits-all diaper. I purchased liners to help with clean up and make sure to use diaper cream or corn starch to prevent rash.

User questions & answers

Question: is this insert compatible with any diaper
Answer: yes
Question: Can these be used by incontinent adults
Answer: I’m sure it can.
Question: Do the brown charcoal ones bleed if you wash them with whites on warm
Answer: Not at all. I wash mine with whites all the time on a hot temperature setting.
Question: how long do I have to boil for them to be absorbant
Answer: I have never boiled an insert before, nor have I ever heard of boiling them. Regular washing at least 4 to 6 times before wear will help them reach maximize absorbency. You only need to wash in hot water and follow with a cold rinse. Boiling the insert is not neccessary, and I'm wondering if it may even possibly damage it in some way. Also, these are not full bamboo inserts, so do not expect a best increase in the amount of absorbency than what you get from the regular microfiber inserts. These insert are still microfiber, its 3 layers but it has 2 layers of rayon from bamboo surrounding the microfiber. While the bamboo does absorb more, it's not going to be that much of a difference. I have switched to these for my daytime diapers as my daughter is older and peeing more. These are perfectly acceptable daytime inserts for a toddler or a younger baby baby who happens to be a heavy wetter. It will absorb more than the regular microfiber inserts that come with the Alva diapers. But these inserts will not last through the night. Maybe if you used 2, but then I would still have serious doubts. For overnight,I use one of these inserts and a 100% bamboo terry insert. It is 6 layers of bamboo terry, no microfiber at all. I will get 11/12 hours of protection ( my daughter goes to bed around 7:30/8 and will sleep until around 6:30/7) and she will wake up dry. I see this question is fairly old and I'm sure you have found a routine that works for you by now, but I'm sure others just seeing this product for the first time may be wondering, so I'm answering moreso for their sake.

How to treat heavy wetter?

You do generally have to change them more often than most people change disposables since some leave their children in disposables for 4+ hours. You are looking at changing cloth diapers every 1.5-2 hours as a general rule of thumb. If you would like some extra absorbency for heavy wetters, try using or adding bamboo or charcoal bamboo inserts.

User questions & answers

Question: Can this touch the skin or do you need a fleece liner as well
Answer: It can touch the skin however we suggest washing 4-5 times before first use so that the insert becomes more absorbent
Question: Can these be used with Alva baby (LBB) AI2 cloth diapers
Answer: I think the diaper you are referencing is a pocket type diaper. If that is the case I recommend looking for the inserts from naturally nature that do not have the gussetted sides and are flat. I think they might be a little unwieldy and bunch up when used with a pocket type diaper. I got them specially to use with the flip diaper covers which do not have a pocket. I love them with that particular diaper because it's an extra barrier of protection against leaks at the leg. I wish you luck and hope this was helpful. :)
Question: How many should we purchase to start off for a newborn baby
Answer: I think it really depends on how often you will wash diapers. Don't count on daily with a newborn, it's a bit overwhelming! We use these as soft protection for baby's skin overnight or for naps or car rides. We use them like a liner or doubler along with the cloth diaper (trifold), inside the diaper wrap/cover. IDK if this was the intended purpose, but 12 do well for about 2 days between our 2-and-a-half-year-old and 8-month-old. A newborn won't soak that much, so you may be able to use these exclusively as liners for at least a few weeks. If that is the case, my guess is you may want 3 dozen or so. When baby is older, these just do not contain poop as well as unbleached trifolds, IMO. Maybe that's due to how we're using them. That said, I absolutely love these and they were well worth the investment. If you're just starting cloth diapering, it'll take some time to try different products and methods to work out just what you like and what works for your family. It's an adventure. Stick with it; it's worth the trouble and the investment, in SO many ways. You'll get it down, don't worry ^_^
Question: Will these inserts work for Medium/Large gDiapers
Answer: Yes they will work for gDiapers. Thanks for asking
