Answer:	No, its suppose to read 0 psig! Some pressure gauges are adjustable and you're able to zero them out. I can't remember if this pressure gauge is adjustable or not but if not then I suggest replacing it with a Winters pressure gauge which are of much better quality. Will it make a difference, no! For testing gas pressures with a 15 psig gauge you need to pressurize the gas line(s) up to 1/5 the max gauge pressure rating (aka 3 psig) and it needs to hold pressure for at least an hour or much when leak testing. In your case, you'll need to be at 5.5 psig since the gauge is reading 2.5 psig at standard atmospheric pressure. Hope that answers you're question. I might add that this test gauge works quite well once you disassemble it and seal the threads with Leak Lock thread sealant.

Answer:	Yes, it will give you the gas pressure, if there is no tap port, (There should be), you may have to modify the plumbing to create one. I bought this to do the exact same thing you are. As it turned out, there was a flow sensor issue in my Bosch water heater for the water, which they fixed under warranty. Tankless water heaters monitor many things: Gas pressure, water flow, temperature of the water and combustion chamber and several other things. I think they are great, but can be a trouble shooting nightmare too. After my first Rinnai (Which they were great about repairing), I've made sure to always buy the extended warranty. With our water, five years is a long time. Good luck!

Testing fuel pressure is an essential part of the troubleshooting process of fuel injection system. Proper fuel pressure is vital for engine operation and performance.
Too high fuel pressure can cause the engine to run too rich, incomplete combustion, excessive fuel consumption, increased carbon buildup, exhaust exceeding the standard.
And a low fuel pressure will lead to a lack of horsepower, stalling, and a slow or no-start condition.

APPLICATION RANGE

1. Fuel injection pressure is less than 140PSI: perfect for most gasoline/gas engine fuel injection system (except for Bosch, CIS Jetronic, Throttle Body Systems on GM vehicles), not for diesel high pressure injection pump or direct-injection engine.

2. Check if your vehicle's fuel pressure can be tested by one of following connection styles:
