| Answer: | This speaker has high and low level inputs. High level inputs meaning speaker wire input and low level input meaning rca connections. In the box there is a wiring harness for the subwoofer. That harness has power, ground, remote, and speaker wires. Depending on your installation you can just tap into your rear speakers wires and run the new wires to the high level inputs (which are the speaker wires in the harness) or you can use the rca connectors (these came in my box it's speaker wire on one end which you tie into the speaker wires in the harness and a single rca on the other end. So either way you're good to go and honestly this subwoofer is impressive. I put this in a 2013 explorer and it pounds! Super clear too! Very easy to install! |

So if You have a more powerful amp than speakers rating most likely You can drive that speaker with at least some more power than speaker rating up to the point of undesirable distortion and back off just a little for safe operation that will generally last the long term. Anytime You hear distortion You run the risk of burning the voice coil wiring . This explanation although true is also a general guideline. Just make sure to back off volume from the point You hear a little distortion and Your speakers should last. |
