Question:	Is this made of glass
Answer:	Just FYI. BPA free is great.... but it's worth knowing what's being used in it's place.
Question:	When do you add infuser? do you put infuser in after 32 ounces or after 3/4 full? thanks. the instructions say to add 32 ounces and to fill 3/4 full
Answer:	Actually, I pour the first 16 ounces through the infuser, over the grounds. I like to "bloom" the grounds first. I just hold the infuser in the pitcher, and pour the water with my other hand. Then I add the second 16 ounces, and add the infuser. The 32 ounces only fills the pitcher 3/4 full. It leaves enough room for water displacement when the infuser is added.
Question:	The suggested 28 tbsp coffee almost filled up the filter thingy - some grounds were even dry after sitting. What measurement works best
Answer:	I have the 2 quart pitcher and the instructions say 28-32 tablespoons or 2 cups of coffee for cold brew. I was confused at first and looking at the wrong directions and used only 1 cup. The coffee was drinkable but it was not as concentrated as it should be. Also, the instructions say to put it on it's side in the refrigerator which I didn't do the first time..
Question:	Can you use this to make ice tea? it seems the same as the Takeya ice tea maker but with a different colored top
Answer:	It's not the same filter. The coffee maker uses an ultra-fine mesh filter, while the iced tea maker uses one that is not as fine. We also recommend using two filters - one for coffee and one for tea to ensure that you get the best taste from each beverage.

Add Coffee

Add 14-16 tablespoons of your favorite medium roast, coarsely ground coffee to the infuser, then twist into lid.

Brew

Add 32 ounces of cold, filtered water to the Takeya pitcher, fill 3/4 full, then lower infuser into water.

Seal lid airtight, shake well and store in refrigerator overnight or up to 36 hours to cold brew. Occasionally twist open and swirl infuser. Remove infuser when brewing is complete. The result will be a brew of concentrated coffee.

Serve Hot or Cold

Hot Coffee - mix 1 part coffee concentrate with 2 parts boiling water. If desired add sweetener and creamer of your choice.

Iced Coffee - simply pour coffee concentrate and add milk or soy over ice.

Question:	Cold brew tastes watered down after 24 hrs. What did I do wrong
Answer:	Are you using enough coffee grounds (I put in 14 tablespoons per pitcher full of water and then have to add water to my glass when using or it’s too strong)? Brewing for at least 24 hours in fridge? Not too rough a grind, at least medium grind and not too fine or it goes through filter.
Question:	Do you Diluate it with water after its steeped for a day or two when serving? Or serve as is
Answer:	You put your coffee grounds in the filter screen that comes with your Primula. You then fill with water and let it steep for 24 hours or longer. I stir the grounds in the middle of the brew time and throughout periodically for a good strong brew. Make sure the pot is full with water to the rim. I hope this helps you.
Question:	Does the top make an airtight seal? Like is it twist to pour? Thanks
Answer:	The lid fits very snug on the top and you can twist it so that it pours nicely, there are holes for the coffee to come out. But if it is tipped over the coffee will run out, so it is not totally airtight. I do Love this cold brew coffee maker very much. Hope that helps.
Question:	Do you pour all the water into the grounds, or just the first 2 cups, then the rest into the carafe
Answer:	You pour all of the water slowly over the grounds. You start with the two cups to moisten the grounds. Then add the rest of the water until the pot is filled to the top of the glass “window.” Be sure that you use about a cup of “cold brew” coffee grounds, which are coarser than regular coffee grounds. And I use a chop stick to very carefully stir the grounds a couple of times during the 24 hour brewing process. The coffee is awesome! We love this brewer!

Clean the Stains

The filtration unit is made of rust resistant 304 stainless steel. If the bolt turns black, you may think it's rust, but actually it is from coffee stains. This happens when you soak coffee in the container for a long time and the bolt becomes stained by coffee. It can be cleaned by soaking in acidic liquids (vinegar, lemon juice, etc.) for a while. The stain will fall off and the bolt will revert to a new look.

304 Stainless Steel Screws

The screws are made of stainless steel materials which will not rust or loosen easily. Please tighten the screw to prevent the beaker from falling off after removing for cleaning. If the screw becomes loose, use a screwdriver to tighten it and then you can continue to use the french press.

Unscrew the Filter Screen

The filters are polished (so don't worry about being hurt) and can be taken off by twisting. With one hand fixing the knob on the top of the plunger, you can use the other hand to twist the filter screen holder/plate counter-clockwise. In this way, you can unscrew the filtration unit and add filters as you prefer.

Answer:	The flavor depends on which grounds you use. Expect it to turn out 3 times stronger than a regular brewed cup of coffee & use dark roasts for best results. In this put 1 1/2 cups grounds (buy beans & set grinder to largest size - I use a paper place to create a "funnel" to pour grounds into the filter) first then add 6 cups of water poured into the grounds to wet them. (4 cups water to 1 cup grounds) Shake a bit a few times during the 20 hr brewing period. I brew mine on the counter, some put it in the fridge. I take it a step further to remove very fine bits using a coffee carafe with filter holder & coffee filter (Cuisinart filter holder sits nicely in place on carafe). This removes the tiny "grit" left. You can use any way you'd like. Dilute for a cup of smooth tasting coffee (this takes out the acidity & bitterness) or use to create cold drinks & more. Many possibilities with this! It makes some awesome tasting coffee!

Answer:	160 microns is approximately 90 U. S. Mesh or Roughly .006" The smaller the micron number, the smaller the size hole. The LARGER the mesh number, the smaller the hole. A 600 U. S. mesh is about 20 microns or .0008" A normal size water pre-filter is about 20 microns.

Answer:	I make it in the evening and let it sit out until I go to bed. Then I put it in the fridge, continuing to let it steep throughout the night. I remove the grounds in the morning, pour a cup and store the leftover in the fridge.

Simply pour hot water over the grounds instead of cold water and remove the used grounds from the brewer immediately after hot brewing is completed. Question:	i am not seeing how much this toddy maker holds...? a liter? more/less
Answer:	If you follow the directions you use 7 cups of water. The karaf is about the diameter of a 2 liter soda bottle and about 7 inches tall. Drinking one cup of coffee per day using the recommended 1 part concentrate to 3parts water, it lasts me 2-3 weeks.
Question:	Can you reuse the filters? How long does a filter last
Answer:	Yes, each filter can be used 10 times or keep for 3 months. Personally, I've used them more and for longer than the 3 month timeframe and not had a problem. I just make sure to rinse it well after use and keep it in a plastic baggie in my refrigerator. I don't let the filter sit around any longer than brewing and don't let it touch food or the counter to avoid bacteria transfer.
Question:	Does the coffee come in contact with the plastic
Answer:	The coffee and water will brew inside the food safe and BPA-free brewing container. Question:	I covered the top of the receptacle with clear, cling wrap before the coffee brewed overnight because I didn't want to leave it exposed. OK
Answer:	I don't think it's necessary; nothing will get into it to taint your coffee, unless you live with an exterminator! :) However, personally, I cover mine with a paper plate, just to be OCD.

Answer:	You need to use a courser grind very little is now getting through the filter. I am using setting 30 on my Baratza Encore.

Answer:	Yes, the carafe seems to be airtight. It has a silicone ring that causes the lid to fit snugly on top. However, ou probably would not want to turn it upside down. I am not sure if it would stay on. I have left iced coffee in the carafe for several days and it tasted great! Hope this helps.
