It is possible to change all ECU parameters, turn existing features on and off etc (requires extended licence, which is free). ELMconfig software does allow firmware update on some Ford models but it does not support Escape.

I had the same problem on my Dell, luckily it's got 2x3.0 USB ports and 1x2.0... The company that makes this device doesn't make that clear on the packaging or super obvious on their website (though I did find that answer there). I tried installing their drivers - WHICH IS IMPOSSIBLE btw. For me, plugged into the 2.0 USB port and Windows 10 recognized the device and got a Green Light on the device. Worked as expected after that... Good luck!

I went to this site https://www.ftdichip.com/Drivers/VCP and downloaded the latest driver available on both of my computers (Windows 10 64 bit and an older Acer laptop with Windows 7 64 bit) Once the driver was installed, the EX adapter worked as it should. Now whenever I have the cable adapter connected to the computer, it shows a split second red light, then changes to yellow, then as soon as I connect it to the ODB II port on the car, it goes to green and it's ready to go.

I received my jacket, put it on and got underneath a shower with the shower going full force with the back of the jacket right up against the shower head for about 20 minutes. Not a drop. The fabric shed the water instantly. It was waterproof for me. I do not know what these people are talking about. If for some reason your DWR Coating is not working or it has worn off, replenish it with Graingers DWR Treatment. They are supposed to be the best.
