User questions & answers
Question: | diesel engine, LPG engine all use |
Answer: | I would not recommend this for diesel engines, and would definitely not use it for an LPG-fueled engine. |
Question: | Will this Redline product damage my 02 sensors with LONG TERM use? No one seems to address this issue |
Answer: | 20 year auto tech. No. The O2 sensors are designed to detect changes in fuel. Specificly the air/fuel ratio. They are not as fragile as most people think. They in no way could be damaged by using this product. This is actually the only thing I use and can highly recommend when it comes to fuel additives. |
Question: | Is this product better than the much cheaper STP fuel cleaner |
Answer: | I'll tell you this the difference being only a few dollars considering this product is in the $10 range I wouldn't bother trying anything else. I'll admit I've never tried any other product, but 2,200 mile after the first use I still see a node improvement in the fuel economy and have the smooth acceleration. I'll he sticking to the every 5k recommended use. Hope this helps |
Question: | Can u detail the procedure how to use this product |
Answer: | Hold bottle in left hand. with right hand, twist cap counter clockwise. Break foil seal on bottle. (if you smoke, put the cigarette out before proceeding further)open gas tank door. remove gas cap (place in a location you remember to reinstall later.)Pour contents into gas tank. Replace gas cap. Drive as normal and it will clean injectors up as you drive. Enjoy a beer (AFTER you drive with enough time in between to sober up.)Call the fellas up and stand around drinking beer while admiring a fine product from Redline. (PEA is the main thing you want to clean things up, which Redline and Techron have the most)//I hope that is detailed enough\\ |

Question: | Can this be used in a new motorcycle engine with wet clutch |
Answer: | redline unlike other oils it don't shear in turbos. which makes it one of the best oils to use in the ecoboost. I use it in my (f350 which is a 2010 6.4 compound turbo diesel 15w40). i also use in my 2013 (mustang 5.0 not turbo 5w50) and my wife's (2019 ecoboost 2.7 turbo 5w30) all my vehicles I have gotten new and all ran with the oil it came with for 500mile for breakin time then I went to redline. I have never had a problem with redline and all my cars but the diesel I change the oil every 10,000 miles. The truck I change every 15,000 mile and the oil looks the same as it did going in but just a little darker. I also use the full synthetic oil filter because the filter Is alot better such as wix xp. Hope this helps |

Question: | can you use this on a new car |
Answer: | I have been using this oil for over 10 years. I live in the Mid-Atlantic state area. I've tried Mobil 1 and Pennzoil. Redline works better. All 3 pour the same in winter. My engines burned more oil with the other 2. Redline works well in high mileage and/or over 4 yrs old. I put about 5k miles on each of my 3 cars per year. I change the oil 1 time per year. I would rather spend a lttle more per quart and change less often. The only draw back is I found is, once you start using it you have to keep using it or you burn oil. |
Question: | Is compatable with my hyundai tiburon 2007 2.7 v |
Answer: | Ridiculous I've run this in a twin turbo BMW 120000 lots of short trips to the mall ect my wife's car oil analysis is exceptional every time 8- 10000 oil changes redline 5 -30 I've never heard of any oil with that problem |

User questions & answers
Question: | Do I add this to the reservoir or the radiator |
Answer: | https://engineoil.api.org/Directory/EolcsResultsDetail?accountId=-1&companyId=11574&resultsUrl=%2FDirectory%2FEolcsResults%3FaccountId%3D-1 I know they only got their professional line certified. But really, all the logo does is give more money to the big boys. Redline oils have been around long enough and there are thousands of people that will tell you their products are as good as they come. I just put it into my brand-new 2018 Eclipse Cross and my 1997 3000GT VR4 uses Redline 5w30 for years. Redline says this to the warranty question Q: WILL USING RED LINE PRODUCTS VOID MY VEHICLE'S FACTORY WARRANTY? Using the appropriate Red Line product shouldn't invalidate your vehicle's warranty and question the mechanic or service manager that says so. |
Question: | Can I use this with just distilled water in the winter without using antifreeze |
Answer: | Yes, although I don't know why you would want to. Motorcycle oils are already pretty rich in Z and P. Now if you are deciding to run a 15w40 diesel oil, you may want to boost Z and P slightly if it is CK-4, and this product is appropriate for that. An SG, SH or even most SL motorcycle oils are all you need. |
Question: | Compatible with hoat (orange) coolant |
Answer: | No, use 5W-30 synthetic oil that meets GM4718M specifications or whatever is specified in your owners manual. The excess zinc and phosphate in Redline break-in oil is meant for hot rods with engines from the 1960's to 1980's with flat tappet camshafts, yours is a roller tappet engine. You could possibly cause damage to your oxygen sensors and catalytic converters if you use this product in your Cadillac. Look for oil that says Dexos1 (Dexos2 is for diesels) but remember to check that the oil meets GM4718M specs and is a 5W-30 synthetic. |
Question: | How much will a 12 once bottle treat? I have a 5 gallon system and will be adding it to used coolant |
Answer: | This oil is to break in a new engine. The engine in your new car was broken in at the manufacturer. Use oil that the manufacturer suggest. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Well it work with other 2 storke oils that are in the bike |
Answer: | Add it to the radiator, if you can. |
Question: | Does this 2-stroke oil work well with ethanol fuel? 2-stroke racing motorcycle engines |
Answer: | I have tested the water wetter at a ratio of 12 oz of to 116 oz of distilled water. i buried the gallon jug halfway deep in the snow and came out and checked the next morning early and the mix was still fluid. test this for yourself. |
Question: | Is this compatable with alcohol |
Answer: | Yes. With all coolents actually. |
Question: | Can it be mixed with other 2 strike oil |
Answer: | First of all I would flush & refill your coolant. I recommend Prestone 50/50 Extended Life even if your vehicle calls for Dex-Cool. Go to any place that does coolant flushes. Used coolant will not get the same results. In new coolant, the results will vary. Water Wetter will be pushed to it's limits but will still work in a 5 gallon system. The temperatures might not drop enough if stretched out that far in a large system to condone the price paid. If anything does work in this category though, it is either Water Wetter or Royal Purple's Purple Ice. |

Question: | Can I use this in a 2014 Ultra Limited? has anyone |
Answer: | more than likely, yes... however, to be 100% sure.. drain a little out of tank.. mix some fresh redline and mix together and see . watch for settling after some mild agitation. |
Question: | Any compatibility issues removing amsoil from primary and replacing with red line |
Answer: | I've used it with racing gas I've purchased at the track I run this through my racing Go kart 2-Stroke engines (105 octane) I believe it will mix well in ethanol |
Question: | Can this be used in a can am outlander atv |
Answer: | YES, ester based, will not separate like non ester petroleum or synthetic 2 stroke oils in Ethanol.Very good with E85 fuel in a 2 stroke 66cc "china girl" motorized bike engine.Little or no smell compared to gas & typical 2 stroke mix.Jet richer by 30% from #70 to 64 if you get dieseling, (Dieseling is bad too lean, too hot) and replace fuel line with automotive grade and carb bowl o-ring with Nitrile (Buna-N) or Viton® (FKM) elastomer O-Rings or gasket and RTV instead of stock o-ring. E85 will lower mileage by some but act as higher octane too allowing for better high compression performance and a cleaner engine too.Off the Redline website: Contain ester base oils with the highest film strength and affinity for hot metalIncreased power and excellent scuff protectionProvides the lubricating qualities of castors, but with exceptional cleanlinessLow carbon residue dramatically reduces plug fouling and smokeCompatible with reformulated fuelsEach product works in both premix or injection systems |
Question: | What color is the fluid |
Answer: | I would not mix the Red Line with other oils. Gas & oil are inexpensive compared to the integrity of an engine. |

Question: | Why does it say 12 qts |
Answer: | It should work fine on any internal combustion gasoline engine. |
Question: | Is this engine oil meet bmw ll |
Answer: | No, and why use it as an engine flush? This product was formulated and meant to be used as a fuel system cleaner and it's an effective one, at least in my case.
