User questions & answers

Question: Do I add this to the reservoir or the radiator
Answer: https://engineoil.api.org/Directory/EolcsResultsDetail?accountId=-1&companyId=11574&resultsUrl=%2FDirectory%2FEolcsResults%3FaccountId%3D-1 I know they only got their professional line certified. But really, all the logo does is give more money to the big boys. Redline oils have been around long enough and there are thousands of people that will tell you their products are as good as they come. I just put it into my brand-new 2018 Eclipse Cross and my 1997 3000GT VR4 uses Redline 5w30 for years. Redline says this to the warranty question Q: WILL USING RED LINE PRODUCTS VOID MY VEHICLE'S FACTORY WARRANTY? Using the appropriate Red Line product shouldn't invalidate your vehicle's warranty and question the mechanic or service manager that says so.
Question: Can I use this with just distilled water in the winter without using antifreeze
Answer: Yes, although I don't know why you would want to. Motorcycle oils are already pretty rich in Z and P. Now if you are deciding to run a 15w40 diesel oil, you may want to boost Z and P slightly if it is CK-4, and this product is appropriate for that. An SG, SH or even most SL motorcycle oils are all you need.
Question: Compatible with hoat (orange) coolant
Answer: No, use 5W-30 synthetic oil that meets GM4718M specifications or whatever is specified in your owners manual. The excess zinc and phosphate in Redline break-in oil is meant for hot rods with engines from the 1960's to 1980's with flat tappet camshafts, yours is a roller tappet engine. You could possibly cause damage to your oxygen sensors and catalytic converters if you use this product in your Cadillac. Look for oil that says Dexos1 (Dexos2 is for diesels) but remember to check that the oil meets GM4718M specs and is a 5W-30 synthetic.
Question: How much will a 12 once bottle treat? I have a 5 gallon system and will be adding it to used coolant
Answer: This oil is to break in a new engine. The engine in your new car was broken in at the manufacturer. Use oil that the manufacturer suggest.

User questions & answers

Question: Does this work for the red colored coolant
Answer: i don't know if you are supposed to use vc-8 to recondition pre charged coolant. I Use Havoline green HD conventional coolant that is not pre charged and same with gold.
Question: Ford 7.3 L IDI, will be flushing the radiator and changing the coolant. About how many bottles should I buy
Answer: If you are changing the coolant, just purchase coolant with the additive already in it. If you are intent to use standard antifreeze, it will take four bottles of the VC-8 to get you in the protected range according to test strips. Once you have established protection, test your antifreeze yearly with test strips and ad VC-8 if needed.
Question: Can this be mixed with VC
Answer: I use the VC8 with old school green anti freeze. I do know if you can use it with the VC12/ gold? I would check the specs of VC12
Question: So is this an additive that can be added to the Motorcraft Gold
Answer: The gold doesn't need it unless your nitrate level gets below 800ppm. This is for the early diesels running green. Most guys running newer diesels flush the gold out (real good) with distilled water and switch to Cat EC-1 ELC because the silicates drop out of suspension and clog the oil coolers in the 6.0 & 6.4Here's a link http://www.thedieselstop.com/forums/f23/truth-about-vc-8-coolant-additives-226187/

User questions & answers

Question: I wonder if this will effect the usefulness of a head gasket sealer product such as Bars head gasket sealer? Wondering if it may inhibit the sealer fr
Answer: No
Question: Does anyone know if this coolant has any glycol or glucose in it
Answer: From what is listed on the Safety Data Sheet (SDS), there does not appear to be any glycol or glucose. The SDS is on their website.
Question: What is the corrosion inhibitor made of is it safe to use inblue hoat asian coolant
Answer: Did not have any problems. Don't know what is used.
Question: can this product be used in marine engine
Answer: I'm not sure. I think marine engines use the water from the lake or river to cool the engine, so adding this would pollute the water. If the engine has a sealed cooling system like a car, then you could use it, but I would consult with the manufacturer first.
Question: Will this be ok for oem radiator? no mods audi a4 b
Answer: Yes it is fantastic for OEM radiator and will last for many years and your engine will run cooler and last much longer! For every 10 degrees you take off your engine you will without question more then double the engine life! Any motorcycle, Auto, Truck I have used it in I have never had a cooling problem, Like I said it is fantastic! Hope I helped, Mike!
Question: What the mix rate per gallon of coolant? I have a Ford f
Answer: I add two bottles ,worked ok.
Question: Can this be mixed with g12 /g13 coolant as in vw coolant
Answer: I don't know of any reason why you can't use it I use this in my Ford F150 and both my Motorcycles with g12 or g13 for years and never had a problem. I know one thing for sure they all run very cool and extend the life of the engine. Great stuff! Hope I have helped!
Question: Could i skip coolant altogether and just mix this product into water? it never gets below freezing here. it's a 2003 mazda protege5, if that helps
Answer: I wouldn't suggest doing that at all. coolant doesn't just protect against freezing, it also allow your cooling system endure higher boiling temps and provide anti-rust protection as well. this product will assist in keeping your car cool but it's not enough to prevent your car from boiling over.

  • Compatible with water and all anti-freeze mixtures
  • Safe with all alloys - 100% biodegradable, non-corrosive and non-toxic additive
  • Fit type: Vehicle Specific

User questions & answers

Question: does this product inhbit rust
Answer: I don't recall the "claims" made by DEI, other than "lowering your radiator temperature by up to 20 degrees". I doubt it has a rust inhibitor, in it. It is marketed as a cooling additive. All Quality Antifreeze, has additives in them to inhibit rust, & lubricate the water pump seal. If your running plain water, or very low mixture of antifreeze, then you might need an additive package. Rodney
Question: do you have to drain the radiator, or just add to anti freeze
Answer: You add this to the fluid already in the radiator. This is not a antifreeze substitute, its an additive. If you have a cap on your radiator add through there, if no cap on radiator then add to reservoir and keep cap off for a while to allow mixing into the system.
Question: can it be used in motorcycles
Answer: Yes, I see no reason why it would not be applicable to motorcycles. Only exception could be some German bikes due to the use of a different type of antifreeze but otherwise go right ahead reduce use to under a half bottle since motorcycle system capacities are much lower than a car. This stuff definitely works great though!!!
Question: Is it compatible with 2005 Scion/Toyota
Answer: Not sure why not. It is not just a make but the principal in the mix.
Question: is this safe to use in an aluminum radiator
Answer: It is written on the instructions, on their product.. It should be OK.. Best for users to read their instructions first, before using. As there are many precautions.
Question: is this compatible with prestone coolant with glycol in it
Answer: YES
Question: Will this affect the freezing point of antifreeze? I have 2 gallons of 50/50 that i use to top off all the cars. Can I mix this right in as an extra
Answer: if your area experiences below zero temps , i would drain a half of a gallon off the system , add the anti-rust and put the rest with full strength antifreeze. if it dont get that cold there then just drain off enough to fit just the anti rust in and top it off with your 50/50.

EVANS Cooling Systems EC61001 Heavy Duty Waterless Engine Coolant, 128 fl. oz.

EVANS

Based on 8 reviews Check latest price

Product description

Evans Heavy Duty Waterless Engine Coolant, EC61001, is the right choice for all heavy duty diesel, CNG and LNG engines, in both stationary and on-road applications. It is especially effective in severe-duty applications where water-based coolants are challenged. Evans Heavy Duty Coolant defends against heat-related damage while allowing the engine to continue producing its peak horsepower. Without vapor formation, pump and wet-sleeve liner cavitation are eliminated, and EGR cooler tubes are protected from heat-induced fatigue which results in tube cracking. Fuel economy improvement and emissions reduction are possible from being able to raise the operating temperature without fear of overheating. When converting an engine from a water-based coolant to waterless coolant, great care should be given during the installation (conversion) process to ensure that all of the old water-based coolant is removed before installing Evans coolant. It is recommended that the system be flushed with Evans Prep Fluid, EC42001, prior to installing any waterless coolant. When the installation is complete, the water content of the coolant should be no more than 3 percent. If the water is above that limit, the coolant will perform no better than water-based antifreeze.

  • Specially formulated for use in all heavy duty diesel, CNG, and LNG engines, in both stationary and vehicle applications Especially effective in severe-duty service such as vocational and off-road
  • Ready to use Requires no supplemental coolant additive (SCA) additions Contains no phosphates, silicates, borates, amines, or nitrite
  • Has a high boiling point of 375 Degree F and provides low temperature protection to -40F Will not vaporize, eliminating boilover and after-boil Generates low system pressures, prevents coolant loss, and reduces strain on cooling system components
  • Contains no water, effectively eliminating corrosion, wet-sleeve liner and water pump cavitation erosion Minimizes the potential for corrosion and electrolysis issues, and reduces maintenance costs
  • During installation ensure that all of old water-based coolant and water is removed before installing this product

User questions & answers

Question: Landrover disco2 application comments? ..have03 lr discovery series ii se7, 4.6l/8cyl gasoline..disco 2s have high temp issues. anybody know
Answer: I am not sure I know the question. Is the question will this coolant help your overheating issue? I don't think so. I have this coolant in my diesel bus. My selection was based on using a waterless coolant to minimize corrosion and cavitation/cylinder wall issues. I still had overheating issues with this coolant until I changed the fan clutch. Without water, the pressure remains low. The bus has a pressurized expansion tank and even when at operating temperature there is hardly any pressure.
Question: What is the life-cycle or service interval of the Evans coolant
Answer: No need to change coolant after installation, as far as I know it will last the life of the car. Just don’t add any water!
Question: Can this be mixed with the existing 50/50 coolant or is it recommended that you flush the system and use this in the entire system
Answer: This coolant can not be mixed with any other coolant or water. You must use the recommended cooling system flush from Evans before you use this coolant.
Question: what if use this type for gasolin engine? i bought it by mistake
Answer: You can use it for a gasoline engine, it's even better

Product features

Evans Heavy Duty/Industrial Waterless Coolant

Evans Waterless Coolants have a boiling point of 375°F, well above the boiling point of other engine coolants. This eliminates the vapor barrier that can cause hot spots and pre-ignition in engines with water based coolants. Evans Waterless Coolant ensures that the coolant remains in a liquid state and in constant contact with your internal engine components for consistently effective cooling.

Corrosion and Electrolysis Protection

Water is very corrosive and a good conductor of electricity. By eliminating water in your cooling system, Evans Waterless Coolants virtually eliminates corrosion and electrolysis when compared to water-based antifreeze.

Reduced Vapor Pressure

With heat, water generates steam in you cooling system, causing high vapor pressure that exerts internal stress on cooling system components. With Evans Heavy Duty/Industrial Waterless Coolant, this pressure is dramatically reduced, extending the cooling system's operating life and preventing breakdowns.

User questions & answers

Question: does it work
Answer: NO. Did not work for me. My Jeep has a tendency to run hot, & I've tried ALL the products! None have worked on my Jeep, but it's possible they might help the average car.If your cooling system, is clean & working properly, additional products should not be needed! Same as with motor oil, Good oil has all the additives it needs.
Question: how often do I need to isstall it says 21 day biodegradable do that mean it gos away
Answer: Piedmont35 is correct re the 21 day biodegradable aspect. Though they do claim it reduces temp by up to 30 deg, realistically, it's more of a protectant against corrosion, scale build up etc. I would contact them directly to see how often they recommend adding it. http://designengineering.com/radiator-relief/
Question: What is the mixture ratio per quart of H2O
Answer: Not exactly sure what you mean. Most of the products, just say 1 bottle, will treat a radiator, or 32 oz., per 2 gallons. Average car /truck radiator, is about 2 gallons. Personally, I'd say, "Don't waste your money"! I once had a heating problem. Tried 3 different additives, that Claim to lower the temp. Even recommended to me buy the Store or Speed Shop. Well, X was the brand they sold, so Of Course they said it works. EVERYTHING Possible was tried & done on my Jeep! It was a problem within the engine block, & there was No cure for it. If you have a Heating problem, This will not fix it. You need to find the problem. Even with a proper running engine, it would be Very Hard to Prove these products work. You vehicle has a thermostat that controls the temp. Like 180, 200, 210 F. If the engine is running at the "Set" temp, how would you know this product worked?

Question: Will this work with the green antifreeze
Answer: Yes it does
Question: is this for diesel engines? what size is the container for
Answer: Yes for diesel. Very misleading on the container size. Shows the gallon and pint. One spot says 5# and another 1#. It is the pint size only
Question: Is this product the same as motorcraft vc8 diesel engine coolant additive (sca's) or a different product altogether
Answer: It is the same or equivalent. I used it in my 7.3 Powerstroke after my last water pump replacement. I hadn't used it before, and had a lot of rust particulate in the coolant that I drained out of it. I am hoping this prevents the cavitation and keeps the coolant much cleaner.
Question: Does anybody know if this is a Pint or a Quart or a Gallon? It does not say anyplace in the description except the shipping weight

User questions & answers

Question: Can i use this my 2001 jeep grand cherokee laredo and 2003 toyota corolla ce
Answer: Yes, but it will be much more expensive than mass market automotive coolants. Most other coolants are ethylene glycol (EG), this is propylene glycol(PG). This (Engine Ice) coolant is more environmentally friendly and does work a little better for cooling. I use it in my motorcycle for track use because most tracks ban EG - because EG's toxic and slick if spilled on the track. If you use this, flush your old system as thoroughly as possible with demineralized or distilled water to avoid diluting this new coolant with left over EG. Look up PG and EG on Google to see other pros and cons...
Question: Do i have to do a flush, or is this coolant okay to be mix
Answer: Iit is diffent than regular coolant. I flushed with water and then added. See one is propylene glycol and the other may be ethylene glycol. I believe engine ice is propylene glycol.
Question: Does this come prediluted
Answer: As previously stated, Engine Ice is prediluted. I own a Honda CRF450X and one container was more than enough for my bike.
Question: Can I use this in my 2009 Yamaha fz6r
Answer: Yes. I actually called Yamaha Headquarters before putting it in my 07 Yamaha R1 just to be sure that it was safe. Yamaha said they can't recommend it as they have their own product line but it's completely safe to use. I'm extremely pleased with it myself, my bike runs 20° cooler now, I kid you not. It's been great for me so far and I put it in approx 3 months ago or so. Go for it, you won't be disappointed. Flush the old fluid out with DISTILLED water until it comes out as clear as possible then put the engine ice in. I would def purchase again.

Engine Ice Hi-Performance Coolant

Engine Ice Hi-Performance Coolant is biodegradable, phosphate free & non-toxic; typically reducing operating race temperatures and effectively keeping boil over temperatures to 256°F or less and freeze-up protection to -26° F.

The Engine Ice Hi-Performance Coolant formulation has shown outstanding performance in testing that measures its ability to prevent corrosion within all cooling systems, including aluminum, copper, cast iron, steel, magnesium & solder. Engine Ice Hi-Performance Coolant has shown excellent performance in all of the AS D 5216 (Propylene Glycol Base Engine Coolant) tests. Also, Engine Ice Hi-Performance Coolant meets all the corrosion performance requirements of AS D 3306 & AS 4985 (the main specifications for premium ethylene glycol antifreeze). Plus it will not harm your seals or gaskets. Engine Ice Hi-Performance Coolant meets or exceeds all AS (American Society for Testing and Materials) and SAE (Society of Automotive Engineers) Standards and Requirements. These are industry standards in most everything mechanical and engine-based, including motorcycles and cars.

Performance right out of the bottle

Engine Ice Hi-Performance Coolant ready to provide you with dependable horsepower and is proven to reduce operating temperatures. The key to horsepower is not losing it! Engine Ice Hi-Performance Coolant is engineered to keep your operating temperatures at optimum performance to not lose power through excess heat.

Engine Ice Hi-Performance Coolant will provide you with dependable power and reduced operating temperatures regardless of the terrain you tackle.

Engine Ice Hi-Performance Coolant has an excellent high heat capacity and thermal conductivity characteristic, which in testing, has proven to exceed the abilities of most (ethylene glycol) coolants. It provides efficient & effective engine heat transfer.

Engine Ice Hi-Performance Coolant is a proven product, with added environmental benefits to assure the longevity of your engine, and the world we play in.

Ready to Use

Engine Ice Hi-Performance Coolant is pre-mixed with de-ionized water. The process of de-ionizing water eliminates all of the impurities that can do harm to your cooling system. Regardless if you are using tap, bottled, distilled, spring or R/O (reverse osmosis) waters, it can still contain minute particles of iron, magnesium, rust, lime and calcium. Many of these waters also contain chemicals, such as chlorine, fluorides and acids. Want proof? Take two different brands of distilled waters and perform your own taste test. They each taste different don’t they? If water were water, why would they be different? It’s because of the varying amounts of chemicals and minerals in these waters. These minerals and chemicals are what is the cause the scarring, scaling and mineral build-ups in your cooling system. Many also attribute these minerals and chemicals to water pump seal and gasket failures.

Formulated with Propylene Glycol

As compared to the ethylene glycol used in most other brands, propylene glycol is far less toxic and safer for children, pets, and wildlife. Engine Ice Hi-Performance Coolant is also phosphate free (phosphates kill the smallest forms of life in the environment in addition to trees and plants). Propylene glycol comes in both an industrial form and a pharmaceutical form and is used in many consumer products including hair conditioners, cosmetics, and many over-the-counter medications.

Propylene Glycol, the base fluid of Engine Ice Hi-Performance Coolant , meets or exceeds all AS, SAE, Government and Manufacturers standards. It also has NO statutes or health warnings from the Clean Air Act Amendments (CAAA), CERCLA (Superfund), Superfund Amendments & Re-authorization Act (SARA), Occupational Health & Safety Administration (OSHA), American Conference of Governmental Industrial Hygienists (ACGIH), Federal Health & Safety Administration (FHSA).
